Voice your opposition to the Israeli actions for the past 65+ years

I don't agree with the actions of Israel from a moral point of view, whether the topic is Gaza, the West Bank or their attitude towards Palestinians.

That being said, I believe Israel is the lesser evil and I tend to side with them on most of the issues in the Middle East (the exception is an attack on Iran - this would be totally unacceptable). Despite all the flaws in the politics and dominant mentality in Israel, they have a functional society governed by the rule of the law, first and foremost. After decades of conflict, the Palestinians have been unable to organise themselves and build a functional society of their own. Why are there rockets still taking off from Gaza? Why are the Palestinians still dominated by religious militants or former/actual terrorists? If they got a country to call home, what would prevent it from turning into mess such as Iraq or Syria? Israel caught the murderers who attacked that palestinian boy right away, where are the murderers of the Israeli teenagers?

I don't like what Israel is doing but I'll take their orderly militaristic nationalism over the chaotic tribalism of the Palestinians.

Interesting - Palestinian boy was terror victim:

That whole mess is a joke.

It's disgusting, the religious leaders are to blame its there job to speak out for good and justice.

Every Friday you go jummah put money in the chunda these greedy pigs stick it in there own pockets. When did these sobs do anything for Palestine let alone the ummah.

We can blame America as much as we want it won't help us.

Why is the Syrian revolution failing on one side they're fighting Assad and the other Isis. Why would isis kill the rebels supposedly there own brothers?

I hate conspiracy theories but this one smells fishy.

Sort your own house first and it'll be stronger then you can help the Palestinians.

I've been to Pro-Palestinian marches before - it does no good.

Then you get Israeli MPs saying things like this:

http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2014/07/16/371556/israel-must-kill-all-palestinian-mothers/

:(

And then you wonder why the whole of the Middle East hates Israel - they need to look at themselves and how they behave.

I'm away this Saturday, otherwise I may have come along.

Muslims are bred to hate jews, they want the utter destruction of Israel and its people because they believe they should not exist. DO you really think that Jews would be able to live in peace being surrounded by muslims who want to see their utter destruction ?? Israel could be the most peaceful country in the world but it would not save them due to the utter hatred of them because of their religion.

and equally you have Saudi Arabian text books teaching primary school children that all Jews must be murdered.

Doesn't really add anything to the issue does it. If all Muslims were taught to kill Jews from childhood - and it was a religious commandment - then it would be a much wider Muslim vs Jews problem.

How much of the initial reaction to the creation of Israel in the 1940s was religiously motivated, and how much of it was because Arabs deemed it unfair?

They've been living under Muslim rule for thousands of years and no one wiped them out.

The Germans almost did in 10 years though.

If you land-grab, blockade, and generally oppress a people, of course they will elect a more extreme government.

Israel's has an extremist government of their own which supports illegal settlements and killing of large numbers of women and children. In the recent weeks Israel has killed over 200 (mostly civilians) including many women and children, and have injured over 1500. In recent history Israel has used chemical weapons against the Palestinians. Which is the more barbarous country?

Actually several Middle Eastern countries back pre 80s and pre 50s had Muslims, Christians and Jews living together - I believe the disruption is owing to the West, and Israel's lack of adherence to foreign policy.

Furthermore, Jews and Muslims live side by side in many countries around the world - so that has nothing to do with it, it has to do with the consequences of the behaviours of Israel. Which in turn leads the neighbouring countries to be more skittish and vote in more extreme governments or supporting less ideal policies. I'm not saying what Hamas and the like do is acceptable - but the way the Palestinans are exiled in their own land, have their land stolen, people killed and humiliated by Israel is a skew you cannot ignore.

no they didn't they used the exact same smoke munitions we do.

If you want to argue about if they're chemical weapons the Americans using them in shake an bake is way further past that line

And who says anything to the Americans?

The Israeli's don't care about 150+ dead civilians including dead babies, so going on a march to their embassy seems fairly pointless. You may as well spend your Saturday doing something productive/enjoyable.

The Palestinians elected a government in name only. The reality is they have no government, there is no rule of the law, no order, just pure chaos. After all these years, they are unable to show any sign of progress and, although I feel sorry for them and for their loss of lives, I don't think Israel should be blamed for all of the Palestinians' shortcomings.

Israel is not a barbarous country, it's argueably the only civilised country in the Middle East. The things they do to protect their society may be immoral sometimes but, given their situation, I believe they are necessary.

Half of me wishes Israel would just go full on and get the job done in 1 sweep then deal with the political outrage after the event.
