Or, a common e46 fault, the sender is duff and it's crying wolf.

Mine will come on for 5 seconds or so on startup then extinguish.
As I say, no problem with the level though. ???

Same here, duff sensor. Slightly annoying that it's a pretty cheap and easy part to replace, but you need to change the oil at the same time.
330 looks good stew![]()
- I'd got it into my head it was a pig of a job (probably confused it with a different job!
) it's due an oil service,I'll give it a go.
I presume from that the one in my 528 (high end OBC) never worked then! - I assumed it didn't have such a function.[TW]Fox;26629465 said:When the E39 one fails it simply stops working - zero lights at all.

I can finally stop pestering you lot
Nah I'm kidding. I get Oil light on yellow when I turn the ignition off, and my interpretation of the the book is that this means top up oil when I next refuel. Is this about right? I'll be topping up tomorrow hopefully, but need to do a few short (2x 4 miles and I don't have a bike) journeys first- will this be arlight?
I cant believe that you guys actually manually check your fluid levels, ive barely ever seen the engine in my cars. I'd be knackered if any of my sensors failed, the car would just run dry eventually![]()

Looks nice! How much did you pay for it? Mileage? Spec etc?
