After replacing my aged Iiyama prolite E2407HDS
Got an ok set up upgraded recently, i7 plenty of Ram 16G,R9 280X Asus top 256 SSD running windows 7 64 bit.
Trying to run BF3 but getting some screen tear at max settings
Only use PC for FPS games really.
Reading some threads in here im looking at these options.

(1)Asus PB278Q 27" Professional LED Multimedia Monitor - Black £479
(2)AOC Q2770PQU 27" Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £359
(3)Dell UltraSharp U2713HM 27" Widescreen LED Monitor - Midnight Grey £449
(4)AOC U2868PQU 28" 4K 60Hz 1MS Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £469
(5)Iiyama ProLite B2888UHSU-B1 28" 4K 60Hz 1ms Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £499
(6)Samsung U28D590 28" 4K 60Hz 1ms Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor - Black **OcUK Exclusive** £449

Any advice much appreciated.

forget about 4k unless you want to buy another new pc, huge psu and lots of graphics cards

out of the 1440p models, i'd go with the aoc (it gets 5/5 ratings). It's one of the very few models which seems to be problem free.

I personally wouldn't pay the extra, to be honest, at the same price the aoc could even edge it

The aoc is a good monitor, and not one I would have looked at being a brand snob

I've no idea what kind of deal they have with their panel supplier (lg?) but they all seem to have very minimal bleed if any. That's a big win in my book.

Isn't that screen a bad idea for FPS because of the input lag? I'm trying to find the review but I'm sure it was like 15ms, not an issue for me as I don't really play fast FPS games but may be for some.
Found it, http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/aoc_q2770pqu.htm
I'm currently in the 1440p market myself, having had a Dell U2713HM, I loved the clarity etc but really don't want the backlight bleed lottery again, although this is an issue regardless of make.

Not sure but I've just got this screen today and it's outstanding for the price. Not one dead pixel and very minimal backlight bleed compared to that Dell thing I had. Proof will be in the night gaming later. Overall delighted so far.

The AOC shows 17.9ms and the Asus shows 16.6ms of total lag for an extra £100.

I think the AOC will be just fine for 99% of people ( obviously not ideal for fast FPS style gaming ), and probably indistinguishable from the Asus as far as lag goes.

I certainly hope so anyway, I've just ordered one :D

Question though what is best way for me to connect to it from my PC it's running from Asus Radeon R9 280X DirectCUII TOP 3072MB GDDR5 .
Hdmi dvi dp ?

Dp or dvi. Please post lots of photos. Really want to get this but not sure for fps games mainly. I think the bezel is quite thick too isn't it?

Let us know man

Brilliant, Civ V is soooo much better on a big screen, really missed the clarity of 1440p. Could have got 4k for same price but that will be no go for me until there is a single GPU strong enough to run it. Actually the screen does have a moderate amount of bleed but this is common with IPS panels and tbh it doesn't really bother me now.

have u tried any fps yet mate?

No I don't play them and tbh I wouldn't notice input lag or whatever it is anyway! Actually I played Borderlands 2 does that count?

Can't say I noticed anything, had to expand the DOF though as I sit quite close so it's a bit too zoomed in default.
