Let's see your Audio gear!

Looking good, Ryan. As per prior conversations, I'd be very happy to demo and then more than likely take them off your hands when I return! :)

(Also, do I spy DT770s in the background of the 2nd shot?)

my setup

PC -> Musical Fidelity V-DAC -> NAD C 316BEE -> Wharfedale Diamond 122 or Sennheiser HD650s

I also got Beyerdynamic DT770s that I use at my internship and a pair of sennheiser IE7s.

Might post some pictures later

Excuse the photo quality I only have my iPhone to take photos.

Not bad for a university setup :P

I've ordered an Audio-Gd Compass 2 with upgraded TCXOs should be coming by the end of next week can't wait.

No worries :) I reckon you will love them! That air and space with some slight warmth will get you! Lol

Ah yes! Love those things! The 770s are my travel phones. Have not picked them up in a while.

Man, I have wanted the IE80s for such a long time now

Guess I'll have to make do with 2nd hand IE8s (when I do upgrade), they're more inline with my budget :(

They are superb! Well, I'm not getting the most out of them now that I've switched my phone's OS to stock based Android as I found Samsung's drivers to do a better job out of the box at the audio quality output, makes sense, their hardware should work best with their drivers...

FiiO E7 (or even the E07k Andes) would solve all your problems :p Not too bulky either. Heck, they could probably both quite easily power the X1/Q701 if you ever wanted to travel with those.

I had the HD 650 and Annie's too.

How do you find they compare? I personally found them too similar to each other. I found the 65th had more body and emotion to the vocals and the vocals sounded more intimate to my ears. I definitely found the 65th better! The 650 though is perfect for nighttime listening as it has a more smooth treble giving it a polite sound.

Curious about your opinions as not many own both!

Getting a little bit carried away collecting speakers and amps. I'm starting to have a hard time deciding which i like the sound of most too. Need some balancing transformers to get those amps to work though. My only balancing box is in use with a quad 240 downstairs.

Speakers:-
Diy Kef chorale
Tannoy super red 10
Spendor SP2/3
JBL Control 1

Amps:-
Harrison Xi150 mosfet (power)
Inter-M R300 Plus (power)
Luxman L-220 (integrated)
Marantz SR4200 (av receiver)

Similar to your points above as they both have there good & bad points but it's been a hard decision, but looks like I will be selling the HD650's in MM as I have just bought these :)

Awesome. I love my K712s. They stay on my gaming rig, best all rounder for gaming I think.

posted this in the desk thread but fits here more. this is my budget set up compared to some setups here. its to cluttered i know!

AKG K550, FiOO E10 Dac headphone amp, marantz PM6005, Monitor Audios BX2, Auralex pads to stop resonating on my desk, made a huge difference.
