Infamous First Light is getting a standalone disc release in Europe on the 10th September.

Just the heads up for people using deep colour ouput. After I installed the patch today it set deep colour output to off for some reason, even though it was on automatic and working fine previously.

Also had my first complete system crash today. Never had anything like it before this patch. Couldn't even shut down the console using the power button so I had to unplug it at the mains.

Cheers, will give a look when I start it up later. And I've had it crash/freeze plenty of times due to various games and a couple of times when going into standby. Did you hold the power button down for about ~10 seconds? That usually forces it to shut down for me and does the corruption check thing when it boots back up. Crazy if that didn't work D:

And pretty cool that First Light gets a physical release.
 
Is there a way with PS4 that when you unlock a trophy you can quickly see what it is for? Currently I push the PS logo on the controller and have to go to notifications -> trophies.

When I used to unlock achievements on XB you could push the guide button and it'd take you direct to the achievement description. Is this possible on PS4?
 
I'm just about to pull the trigger on a PS4/TLOU:R bundle. Is there any reason why I shouldn't buy a PS4?

I've not been keeping up with the happening in console gaming but from everything I've seen PS4 is the way to go. Just want to make sure there's no massive hardware failure problem (looking at you Microsoft), or a paucity of games, or something like that.

Well I've just joined the ranks of PS4 owners a couple of weeks ago and have to say I'm impressed.

There is nothing as bad as the red ring of death or flashing yellow lights with this generation so far. Few little niggles with both but overall a successful launch i'd say.

Definitely go ahead and get one! :)

Just an observation really from my experience and that of people I know where all with 1 have some sort of issue with the sticks but 2's seem to be OK.

But then there's people like Captain Planet saying they have wear on both types so it perhaps is just coincidence. On my pads though there is a definite difference in the type of rubber between the two.
 
Yep I've only really used the serial 2 pads and they have been terrible. I've replaced the sticks once and they have begun to peel again.
 
I know it might sound trivial but I ended up returning my PS4 for a refund due to fan noise.

I had actually gone through 5...yes 5 (I have serious ocd lol) from different places to rule out the "bad batch".

They all ramp up when playing killzone, and I appreciate it's normal for the fan to ramp up when playing intensive games but I found the fan really intrusive. When the fan ramped up it honestly sounded like my girlfriend had left her hairdryer on (at a low setting)

Shame really as I liked the console, will wait for the inevitable "slim"
