Guardians of the Galaxy

Saw this earlier - good solid action but possibly not as funny as it thinks it is - nicely sets up the franchise. All the sci fi names are a bit naff but that's the source material. Also definitely worth seeing in 3d which makes a change 8/10.

Marvel have done a really good job pumping out franchises / sequels whilst keeping the quality up.

Caught this earlier, myself and the gf absolutely loved it! Great action, great humor and great entertainment!

I watched this today in 3D without really knowing much about it and not even seeing a trailer.

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved the Humour and loved Groot.

Just got back from the cinema and I must say it was great, a solid 9.5/10. Probably the best of the Marvel films slightly better than Captain America 2.

Watched it at tea-time and enjoyed it - solid 8/10 - with the 3D effects being used so well that it's the first 3D film I've actually liked in a long while.

I liked the first credits scene but the last one was very out of place and didn't seem to "fit" right as a cameo (and I love the original character!)

I thought it was great... Loads of fun. This and Captain America 2 have both been top notch films IMO, though obviously very different. It's good to see Marvel have been able to fit such a range of films into their overall Universe.

Marvel took a big risk with this movie and it paid off!! Groot has the biggest heart for one with a very limited vocabulary.

Overall, the movie was top notch. Best Marvel movie by far!! Definitely going to see it again! :D

I thought it was very nice touch for Marvel. :)

How awesome was the soundtrack?

How awesome was it that the film was 95% set in space?

Take the marvel out of it and we haven't had a a very good space film like this in years!

Loved it.

The most lol moments came from Drax and groot.

Marvels answer to star wars is the easiest way to put it.

Really enjoyed it - hard to find any real fault with it (and by that I mean as a film and not some "but that couldn't happen...." part).
Well cast, plenty of action and looked amazing.

My son aged 6 has got wind of this film, watched the trailers and is hassling me to take him to watch the film. Is it suitable for a 6 year old ? I've heard there is a bit of mild swearing which I don't have a problem with. Any thing other than the swearing to be aware of ?

Cheers

Loved this film, As far as marvel films go this is at the top of the list for me. I think anyone who is a fan of Firefly or FarScape would love it!

After credits spoiler -

I understand how important the character was being the first Marvel live-action film but it just "felt" like a wasted cameo, unless he's going to be in GotG 2 which makes no sense at all :D

Saw this last night, really really enjoyed it. Any Thanos fans here? How did you think he looked/sounded? I thought they nailed it, he was incredible for the short time we seen him.

Saw this tonight - absolultely loved it. Was looking forward to it and thankfully it lived up to what I was hoping for.

Loved the bit with the prison escape plan - both the leg and the last thing to steal.

Went to see it tonight and loved it, wasn't expecting that much humour so that was a nice surprise.

10/10

I'd say it's probably suitable for a six year old...

- I don't recall any swearing personally, but maybe there was something mild that didn't particularly register.

- Plenty of fighting, but all very action movie stuff - nothing too gruesome.

- Quite a few innuendos and vague sexual references, but it would all go over the head of a 6 year old. Nothing that's graphic.

- It doesn't have a "threatening" theme that might be scary. The main villain is pretty imposing, but I can't imagine it'd be an issue. Again, all very comic book.

I'd say it's fairly kid-friendly. It's pretty much a classic lighthearted space adventure. If your son has seen other Marvel movies (Thor / Captain America / Avengers) then it's very much on the same lines.
