I have one of these http://forums.bit-tech.net/showpost.php?p=3659885&postcount=16 a Enermax ETS-T40 and have fitted it in this build: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=276418 but as I point out here http://forums.bit-tech.net/showpost.php?p=3660528&postcount=21 the cooler is too tall by a few mill.

My question(s) are can I remove the tops of the heat-pipes without affecting its overall performance? If so what would be the best method? Would I need to reseal the pipes in some way?

You might MIGHT be able to bend them a bit but if you break the pipe and break the seal its a dead heatsink really.

you have the side panel on in those pics? so it fits but its a tight fit?

if so id leave it as it is I wouldn't hack at it

OK fair enough. In one of my links I do say that by switching the clear window to the outside just gives me the clearance I need so it inot a complete failure.

Cutting headpipes will result in a paperweight.

Lookup how heatpipes work and it will be clear why

Cheers mate. Will leave it then.

Thanks all.
