50-55 inch 1080p TV/Monitor with VGA

Hi All,

I am looking for a monitor or TV to use for presentations. Only requirements are that it is 50 inch or over, LCD and has both VGA and HDMI. (dont need smart, 3d, 4k etc). It will need to be wall mounted, but I'm sure anything in this size range will be.

Can anyone suggest anything? Less than £1000 each ideally.

You'll probably be wanting a commercial panel, and the new ones aren't really cheap.

You are looking at £1500+ for 50-55"

BUT, second hand you could pick up an older model dirt cheap.

Ouch, I actually don't need a commercial panel (they are better for leaving on for long periods of time). This would just be used 10/20 hours a week *less than most TVs!!). I checked some commercial ones and they are expenssive.

For maybe google hangouts and vga connected laptops for presentations or HDMI.

I guess plan B is a TV with just a VGA to HDMI cable or box inbetween, if I want to keep it below 1000.

Not many TV's/panels come with a VGA connection now though, that's why you might have to get an older one.

Is vga a must? As you can go the dvi/hdmi route which open up a whole lot more options.

All our laptops have VGA ports (a few have display port) so it would be the easiest solution .

Aye, I am going to have to go with this. My only concern is overscan. Annoying with PC Inputs as you can chop off the start menu/dock or file menus.

The TV should have some form of screen fit/just scan. Unless overscan is screwy on the laptop?

Toshiba TVs seem to be the last semi-decent branded TVs to still have VGA connections. I know we've sourced 47" TVs with VGA for conference rooms at work

VGA to HDMI or VGA to DVI adapter. Easy, can sort any overscan settings very easily (its not an ongoing problem you should just set it once and done if through TV).

Will save you buying an older likely inferior panel.

Hi,

Thanks for that. I will look for Toshiba ones. I am based in Spain so cant use JL, but I see it for around 1100 Euros here which is the same price give or take!

Thanks again, I have just ordered 2 of these. Hopefully they are good when they arrive in a week or so
