the big clubs are spending so much money on fines for noise and drugs that the only way they can keep afloat is to book the massive acts that guarentee massive crowds

the jack of all trades stuff helps with this too. no one seems to be able to take risks anymore and just cover all popular options

Ushuaia is a cool place but it's just full of posers. Plus it's on in prime drinking/bora bora/eating/taking a nap time.

Jealous of you OP. I wanna go back in September but two lads holidays in a year when I've not been away with gf yet would be pushing it :p

Even if it is no one super special Loco Dice, guti, tINI and Chris Liebing all put on a good show.

That Cocoon lineup at Amnesia on the Monday is something special to.. and DC-10 o nthe Wednesday. Very jealous.

It's probably not the first thing that would spring to mind on my deathbed, but it's certainly not somewhere I'd choose to go back to, too many lairy **** who think they're all that, I've been to far nicer party/club locations, which have the benefit of being:

  • Cheaper
  • More attractive women
  • Not full of people trying to rip you off at every opportunity
  • Cleaner and just generally more pleasant environment
  • Less Brits

;)
 
I'm going for my 5th year in a row in September. This year a few of the big clubs seem to have gotten rid of the majority of underground nights and gone with the EDM electro pop crap like Avicii and Steve Aoki etc.

Sounds like you will have trouble finding the music you are really into out there now!

Luckily I go out there mainly for Tech-house/Techno nights so there are still a few things for me :)

Tuesday: ???
Wednesday: Tribal Sessions @ Sankeys
Thursday: Enter @ Space
Friday: Music On @ Amnesia

Just loading my iphone with music for the trip - An interesting mixture so far marco carola, hawtin, sven vath...and slipknot. Not sure how the latter will go down in our hotel room
 
Back yesterday night and what a trip it was.

Sat night out in west end until about 6am, Sunday we had beers in / around the pool most of the day before going to Avicci. Me plus 2 other left after about an hour and headed to Space until 6am. Cracking night at Space

Tuesday - Chase and Status, Pendulum and Showtec were all great, Thursday Cream - Calvin harris was stupidly busy but I was watching Above & Beyond

Monday, Wednesday and Friday we went down to Sunset bars and had drinks - sort of 'recovery' nights I suppose. Some of the group went into west end on these nights but I was too cabbaged

Already looking at flights for next week just for the Sunday - but it would be ~£500 for a night at Space
