*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Does anyone have any experience regarding using a US PS4 in the UK?
I want to pre-order a white PS4 bundle with Destiny and discovered i can get it about £60 cheaper if i order it from Amazon US as opposed to Game.

I understand games are region free so i would just need to change the power plug?

I remembering reading information about doing this on hotdeals. Found it

The issues with doing this have already been mentioned in this thread, you will lose the ability to play Blu rays other than region 1 and you would have to contact Sony USA if you run into issues after the first year. On a more positive note, apparently you wont have to pay any customs charges as they're already included in the price with Amazon.

Is it just me that finds it annoying that when you go to the PS Store and select "new releases" you have to scroll through a huge list of pre order games before seeing anything you can actually buy?

Nope - it's daft as they are not 'new releases'.
To be honest, I find the whole store layout to be quite poor.

I think from the home screen, 1 click should get you all the new releases as surely that's what most people are looking for initially.

Also, there is so muhc junk DLC, that it's easy to miss something you want.

I purchased the walking dead season 2 on PS3 a while back and new episodes are lumped in with the DLC - which there are sometimes 100 or more of in 1 week with all the costume packs and other rubbish.

I'ts a lot easier on PS4 at least due to how much faster it is. It's so painful to use on PS3.

The store layout is a nightmare, especially for DLC. Took me AGES to figure the TLOU survival pack out and it was infuriating having to go through ten billion outfit DLC's before getting to a useful bit of DLC.

I don't know about you but £60 saving is better than a kick in the... I could buy another game.

But that £60 is at the cost of losing your warranty - which is rather important when you're buying a console within the first 12 months of release - and not being able to play local Blu-rays.

Honestly, I really wouldn't do this. I'm all for a bargain (my PS4 was a refurb from Tesco's eBay store) but not at the risk of it being a hassle later down the line.

From the hotdeals link you apparently don't lose your warranty and Amazon will pay for shipping if the PS4 is faulty. Personally I wouldn't go for this deal as I would use the Blu ray player a lot and I would like the added convenience if something does go wrong.

I've finally got round to putting the xbone sticks in my PS4 pad and they are so much better than the standard ones!

But getting a Ps4 that as a blu ray player that can play region A blu ray films Is good deal as multi region blu ray players cost good bit of cash
