New Car : BMW M3 E46

Looking good bud I have had mine for a few months next week and every weekend has been the best driving time of my life. The noise near the redline is amazing :D

Preferred your Z.

Gone off the E46 a bit recently. Don't get me wrong, its an awesome car. But they're just common as muck.

That rear diffuser looks a bit halfords IMHO as well.

I think BMW got the styling of the car spot on, no need to change a thing.

Not too fussed about the diffuser myself it came with the car but I'm not going to start pulling it apart

Noticed you hadn't been around awhile!

Lovely car though mate. How does it compare to your old 330i? Not keen on that exhaust though.

When you come to sell it next month let me know and I might be interested :p

I change my car every 12 months so I can't really say much :)

Hi mate the 330i simply doesn't compare to it in my opinion, it's a completely different beast

Lovely car Tom, I'd like to scratch the M itch too one day...

As you say, completely different beasts, somehow they manage to make all of them a world away from the model they are based on.

Tempted by a CSL type air box?

Everyone is, just a shame they all cost over £1000.
Geoff Steel racing: £1200
Evolve Carbon box: £2500
BMW CSL airbox: £5000+

Then bear in mind all the above need a remap for Alpha-N which is another £400-£600 on top, but its well worth it as the S54 BMW left power to be found on purpose, hint hint CSL, so a remap gains typically 20-30BHP in the 6000-8000rpm range. :)

There are others on ebay for around £1000 as well but Evolve have tunes to suite all the above and they work very well now, whereas some of the unknown entities have issues or need a very expensive custom map.

Very jealous mate, beautiful motor. Got me looking at Autotrader... as usual after an M3 post haha. Maybe one day... :(

Been for my first proper 'hoon' today

While the 350z felt like it had more torque low down (under 2.5k) the M3 just pastes it in my opinion and is more consistent throughout the Rev range, stick sport mode on and it becomes even more precise and agile it absoloutely takes your breath away and the sound near the red line is something to behold!

What an unbelievable machine.

I was going to keep mine standard.... within 1 month I've spent £2k on Bilstein B12 suspension, Miltek Backbox and CSL reps.... and removed the blacked out look with OEM bmw roundels, chrome side vents etc.
