Win7 BSOD Issues

I just need to download the symbols for the mini dump file to read it properly.
I can also try resitting the memory and reduce the speed to 1330Mhz.

I ran Driver Verifier and selected all drivers. It crashed instantly and had to do a system restore. My next port of call is to remove 1 stick and run memtest86, then swap the sticks and run memtest86 again. If it still crashes, I am going to install Windows 8.1. (I decent OS) :)

Right, So I removed both sticks of RAM, cleaned then, put on stick on a different lane. Ran Memtest86 (no errors), then booted into windows and left to idle. BSOD.
Did the same with the other stick of RAM. Memtested it and ran windows and left to idle. BSOD.

This must mean its a driver/software error so I am now going to format the drive and install Windows 8.1.

DEFAULT_BUCKET_ID: VISTA_DRIVER_FAULT

I thought you had Windows 7 ? Are you sure you are using the correct Windows 7 drivers for everything ?

(also looks like you are not using correct symbols for windbg)

It may still be the RAM. Memtest is helpful in confirming memory error (when it catches it), but doesn't catch it all the time. Upping memory voltage slightly sometimes helps but ideally it should be capable of running at stock. BIOS updates often include helpful memory control tweaks.

Good luck in any case.

I don't ever recall downloading drivers for Windows Vista.
I tried downloading the symbols but then I gave up and installed Windows 8.

What kind of voltage are we talking here? 1.51v?
If windows 8 does BSOD, my next port of call will be to update the BIOS. I know its easy, especially with Gigabytes @BIOS software but still scared of bricking my motherboard.

Hey guys, I have installed Windows 8.1 and happy to report no other issues as of yet. Thanks everyone for all your help. :) woow

Great! hopefully it remains that way:cool:

CoreTemp did make a habit of freezing windows up which doesn't normally happen but I uninstalled it and now use OCCT for CPU Temps. Is there any other CPU temperature software that warns you when the CPU gets too hot (in the system tray) and other features?

SpeedFan perhaps? Not a great UI, but awesome in ways of features
