My mum was let down when a pharmacy took the prescription entered it into the system and then found out they won't get the drugs in stock for 4 days.

Apparently once entered they can't give it back to get sorted elsewhere. So she was without her anti-arrhythmia drugs for 3 days. May not sound like an issue but as I understand it you don't miss dosses of these drugs!

Obviously never used them again and have since learnt to ask if they're in stock beforehand. Thankfully she doesn't need them anymore though.

So they ordered the out of stock drug before even telling you that it is out of stock:confused:

If so that is very bad practice

Yeah pretty much.

To be honest the issue was really they couldn't (or wouldn't) give back the green slip to take elsewhere. The boots literally 3 doors down had it in stock.

The once gave my outstanding prescription meds to somebody else because I attempted to collect them 7 days later. They also told me to wait 48 hours to receive a prescription, and when I returned to collect them they told me they couldn't get them? It is Boots I'm talking about.

Ain't been in mine for a while, they Automatically order my Prescription and deliver it to my door each month

Sorry, who are they?

He's talking about the pharmacists. Once you have a prescription form your GP for a long term problem, the pharmacists just re-order every month from your GP.

No not satisfied. Whenever I go in these days it seems that they haven't got the whole prescription so give me half and then I have to come back later to pick up the rest. There's always a significant queue, which is almost always due to prescriptions waiting to be checked before being handed over.

Don't goto a Methadone pharmacy.

Most of my experiences are fairly positive.
The occasional queue but nowhere near as bad as our local Co op.
Sometimes struggle to complete my prescription but I do get a fair few boxes at a time. Not really a huge problem to go back in a day or two.

Having earlier tried one pharmacy which had no erythromycin, then a second which managed to give my mother two pills less than it says on the box and script, tonight the answer's no.

This kind of thing is not unusual, sadly. So consistency is the only thing I'd ask.
