MotoGP 2014 Season

even before this he hasn't been made that welcome
he wasn't invited to the ducati bosses birthday party, everyone else was and in a team photo he was missing from that also.
so its been on the cards for a while.

on a side note
Stefan Bradl has signed for Forward Yamaha to replace Edwards next year

Ducati is very much a marmite affair...

Also I didn't realise Edwards was finally retiring... Although it has been on the cards for a few years, after working his way through to the back of the grid...
after 22 years of racing, 11 motogp and 8 WSBK :eek:...

I'll never forget the fights with Foggy in WSBK...

The Edwards/Bayliss Imola battle still makes the hairs on my neck stand up. Bayliss was winning practically every race up until the halfway point until Edwards got a new Engine from Honda and he started winning as well, chipping away at Bayliss race after race until the final race of the season ended up winner takes all. They were a class above anyone else in the field. No quarter asked, none given but still a hell of a lot of respect between the two of them on track.

Almost forgot about that:eek:

Edwards Honda and Bayliss/Foggy Ducati were leagues in front of the rest, what Edwards did on the underperforming Honda was just mind blowing... Shame he never managed the same in MotoGP.

Ive got a lot of time for Edwards, he's such a genuine, likeable guy, & utterly committed to his ride, even if its an under performing lemon, he still goes out there & gives it his all, the Texan tornado's earnt his retirement & then some.

On a side note tomorrows going to be interesting, the first free practise starts at 2.00pm, I'm eager to see how Cal's going to perform now that he's got one foot out the door.

Used to be hard to cheer for Edwards whilst being a Foggy & Bayliss, but I always accepted him as one of the greats, he has always fought tooth and nail for every point, just a shame he was never given a proper chance in MotoGP.

Cal will probably just ride around like a Sunday afternoon or he'll actually ride the nuts off the Ducati and pick up a few points just to prove he's not worthless....

Dani has signed a two year deal as well. Marquez won't be leaving Honda any time soon either. Realistically he couldn't do anything else. Will be interesting if Suzuki are competitive though.

Unless Randy actually told them he didn't want the ride I'm sure he won't be very happy about that!

I'm in the UK at the moment.. How do i watch the race later ? highlights are sufficient. i do not have BT Sport, where I'm staying.

does marquez do this on purpose to keep things interesting ? surely cant really be so bad at starts.

bets on what lap he takes 1st back ?
