Robin Williams found dead at home

It does if you have lots of it. It opens so many doors. As does success. They come together.

Success and money may come together, but what then? What happens when you've got enough money? What happens when you think you have everything you want but then your life still feels hollow? What happens when the money dries up and your bills don't?

Mo' money mo' problems.

Oh my goodness, I'm deeply saddened by this news, I truly am. A comedic legend, a performing genius that was able to bring light and laugher into so many hearts. You will be deeply and sorely missed all over the world Mr Robin Williams, now RIP and bring laughter to the angels above.

The Irony in this movie, brings a lump in my throat, one of his strongest most believable roles. :(

I don't know, do you know the answer? I've never experienced something that these celebrities has achieved. Have you experienced anything like these very rich people? Look at Nicholas Cage… lost a lot of his money from not paying tax? I think he was bankrupt at one point. He had to take every type of acting work to get back up there. With age against him now. Isn't that also why The Expendables came about. Most of the big stars from the 80s and 90s… Since Hollywood certainly seems to be against a certain age point.

Look at Chris Hoy, now on a different path with car racing.

You even hear most young people now, all they want to be is famous and filthy rich.

Do you really see it in such simple terms?

Life can be **** with or without money to burn.

If it's not simple, why do so many people want more and more? Everybody deals with things differently. People make things hard when it doesn't need to be and others can create and simplify life. We all deal with it differently.

So what makes life so crap with or without money? Apart from the hangers-on. As some saw it like the David Beckham documentary in Brazil.

I dont think he really got over the Death of his friend John Belushi TBH. I'm so sad he's gone. Deserved to win more than just the one Oscar too. :(

Like you say, we all deal with life differently.
Just because people want something, it doesn't mean it will bring them happiness if they get it.
You've kind of answered that yourself by asking why do people want more and more.

What makes life so crap with or without money?
Many things, too many to list.

I think trying justify 'why you should stop being depressed' is just a waste of time really. It is what it is. The people who suffer it cannot help it. They may have the best life ever in someone else's eyes but feel completely alone.

People who don't understand and think money buys happiness make me sad.

In fact, if you're rich, you may feel really quite alienated from your 'average' person. And lets not forget the shear amount of scrutiny you have to suffer as a modern day celebrity.

For those on about money....
I know a lot of very wealthy people.

Money does make people happy, very happy.
Money doesn't buy you a partner that you want to be with.
Money can solve most of life's stresses (nearly all of my problems can be solved with money)
Money doesn't help when your loved ones are dying around you.
Money does give you experiences that are just dreams for most of us.
Money doesn't block out the worry of losing everything you own.

I know depressed people that earn more in a year than I will in a life time, it's left them feeling like they have missed out on life because they have concentrated on their career. He is now trying to find a partner that actually cares about him and not his money.

I also know people who would give you everything they own and they hardly have anything themselves, they are far happier although sometimes need help financially.

I also know someone who has a lot of wealth and is living the dream....

It's not black and white unfortunately. It's alright for us to say it is, I would imagine I'd be happy if I didn't have to worry about money, but I have a partner, a hobby I love and most things I want. I just could do with cash so I don't need to work or worry!

Everywhere you look it's just praise upon praise, people genuinely are saddened he is gone.

Looks like he touched many peoples lives and made them smile and laugh, a thing he would be proud to have known.

if having too much money saddens you,by all means give it to me:D

+ don't you think it was selfish to commit suicide though? his poor family

Suicide is a selfish act, but if he was clinically depressed to such a point where he physically killed himself, I don't believe he would have been thinking rationally about what it would do and how it would affect anyone else. I guess it eats away inside of you until you just snap.

I've not been through depression, but I have family members who have been multiple times, and they've tried to commit suicide too, so I know how it feels on the other side, but I know their rationale isn't fully there, it's like it's being suppressed and something else is just taking over their mind. I don't fully understand, and I doubt unless people have been close to such a point where they want to kill themselves, they will understand either, so it's hard to say whether the intent was selfish.
