*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Nope thats nothing to do with this if you mean Vita TV/Playstation TV. Thats basically to play Vita stuff on a TV or to allow the PS4 to stream to another TV in the home. Very little to do with media really.

If you mean their TVs well theyve supported DLNA for years...

My thoughts are that Sony just arent looking to replicate the PS3 media features into the PS4 - how they are being marketed is very different...

The reasoning behind that I dont know, nor do I particularly agree with - hopefully having to match features with the moving target that is the XO might make them more willing...

Perhaps they will do like they did with 3D, MS big announcement yeah we got 3D on preview, people laugh at Sony and question where 3D support is. Few Days later Sony announce 3D in next software update and a few days after that it appears.

Well 3D BD support and DLNA dont appear to be the most difficult things to implement, its more the fact that they want to. Seems to be low priority, so I wouldnt be surprised if when push comes to shove from MS those kinds of things appear. Lax feature parity is probably all they need to do to quell the masses...

My personal situation has me more interested in getting things like suspend/resume and the share button working perfectly.

Just fitted the Xbox One thumb sticks, feel really really nice, much nicer feel. I did however snap a trigger off which was harder than everything else to fit again. I also re-assembled and everything worked fine except the light bar, i almost left it because i dislike the lightbar but i went back and fixed it which took seconds, i may even disable the lightbar again at some point, i imagine the battery will be better.

Woah lol pictures are ginormous, open spoiler right click and open image in new tab to see it properly.

Nice, can you link to the exact ones please? (Because I'm stupid and will probably get the wrong ones)

Cheers.

Where did you get them from?

No gaps on mine either have fitted 10 sets today. All my mates are now rocking Xbox sticks and all agree they are miles better....:)

I got them from the same dude as MOOGLEY.

Don't know why you're pulling your controllers apart, sticks are perfect for me on PS4 controller, but granted I never understood the griefing about DS3 tbh. So many cool games coming up, Project Cars and Day Z! I will probably lose days to Day Z.

I did it mainly due to the crap quality of the DS4 sticks, mine were crumbling and falling apart. I didn't want to keep buying and replacing if others were the same so tried the Xbone sticks after hearing about it.

Didn't have a problem with the sticks but now i couldn't go back.

Yup many games coming up, means a very empty wallet especially Sep/Nov and early next year.

About 1 in 10 have these problems so you're unlucky, I wouldn't pull your expensive electronic consumer goods apart personally as sony will replace worn pads under warranty.

I suspect more than 1 in 10 have them problems, in fact around 10+ friends have the problem to and that alone leads me to believe it's quality control not luck.

I contacted them and they wanted me to go without my pad for anything up to 4 weeks and pay for it to be sent back. I wasn't going to pay because their quality control sucks and also going without a controller i.e having a Playstation i couldn't use in the mean time.

So i pulled it apart because the warranty for the controller means sweet fa if it leaves me in limbo, added the new sticks and 10 minutes later better quality sticks and no waiting.

If it was similar to my PS3 replacement where they arrived at my door with the new console and collected the old one then it would be fine. I'd rather just go out and buy a new controller if i mess it up even if it costs me more.

Still contemplating taking it apart and using it without the light bar id be interested to see what the battery life would be like.. Anyone know a legit link to a battery that's better and fits in the DS4?

Indeed. I have three pads all with wear problems.
