I honestly don't think dogs should be allowed unless you live on private land with a minimum distance between your property and the neighbours. Number of times my cats woke up anyone except my own family.... none. Number of times I've been woken up by dogs barking over the years, must be hundreds.....
We live out in the country, surrounded by farmland. Plenty of people own dogs, but you rarely hear them.
Instead it's the wailing tomcats from the local farms either out looking for girl cats to screw, or beating each other up, knocking over dustbins, tearing through the place and so on.
>Dogs smell, cats don't
Come round. I'll introduce you to Stinkerbell... honkingest kitten on the planet, even before she farts!!
>Dogs shed hair everywhere,
So did my Russian Blues.
>Dogs need walking and constant attention, cats don't
So why do so many cat owners take theirs out on leashes and why do so many cats have attention-seeking behaviour?
>Dogs need lots of food, cats don't
Depends on the dog size. A Border Collie will go through a tin a day. So will a cat.
>Left alone the dog could conceivably quite happily destroy my kitchen/sofa etc, cats cannot
Nah, they just hop up to those high, impossible to reach places you'd normally put things (like vases) for safety and knock them off instead.
>Dogs cannot survive more than a few hours without a human to tend to them, cats can
How come one of mine survived a year living alone on a rubbish dump, then?
>Dogs have minging habits like
Like cats, really. Mine have done most of that and I see many others doing the same.
>Dogs are eager to please to the point where it almost disgusts me, cats are far less pathetic.
Dogs are for companionship.
Cats are for... actually, I don't know what they're for. People who cannot afford short time-wasting game apps?
>Don't even start me on toilet training cats v dogs.
Dogs crap in hour house because you haven't shown them the garden properly. Cats do it because they hate you.
>Dogs have a far greater arsenal of annoying noises to make
So do humans. It's called communication. Dogs let you know what's going on. Cats just punish you if you don't do what they want.
Supposedly cats only meow around humans - Maybe they're imitating babies and seeking the same attention.
