So today I bought a new car...

Don't these things cost about £10k?

If you are saving the equivalent 32MPG by running this bearing in mind the fact it has cost £10k does that not mean you have to do around 120000 miles in it just to break even?

Or are my alcohol fuelled mathematics rather flawed?

That sounds like a great deal, spend thousands more on a tiny pokey car which isn't a very nice place to be to save £20 a week on petrol. I just don't get it.

Haha

OP - what did you pay for it and what was the finance deal?

The Mazda was getting high on Mileage so was getting to the point where it wasn't really worth anything. It was the petrol engine and got me an average of 32 MPG so the Aygo doubles that which will save me money on the ol' petrol.

Yup, it's not bad actually, at the UK average of 7,900 miles/year, that will only take you around 15 years to break even :)

No, that's pretty much spot on ;)
