Speed camera vehicle - right or wrong?

He's wrong. All speed camera vans in Hampshire are operated by Police Staff. You only need to be trained to use the equipment.

There are many other examples where Police staff are part of the evidence gathering process such as Drug Intelligence Officers etc.

Yep, i'm with you on that, i know several civilian witness statement takers, forensic examiners etc, i know police support staff who drive police vehicles (not allowed to utilise blues and two's!), but i am/was unsure about the speed van issue.

You would think the guy who was operating the van would have been a bit better clued up though, he should have known how and why he was authorised to be there and so told the guy to do one - all avoided!

Oh, I've forgotten the most obvious example of this being Police Staff Investigators (PSIs), who interview, contact the CPS for charging decisions and basically do a lot of the work a CID officer would.

In all fairness he was very much put on the spot for a question that I doubt he'll ever get asked again.

I would not be impressed with a police officer having a foot in my door with no charges or warrants and not listening.

that said the guys a pillock

Guy in the video is a plank. Thanks for giving him a load more views :(

id love to see a spoof of this, maybe a man in a builders van who claims not to be a builder or smth.. and see camera guy get all bothered about it lol

The thing that strikes me is the anger and bile in the cameraman's tone, like he's found someone robbing an old lady.

I noticed his tone changed slightly from anger to panic when the officer accused him of having mental health issues that meant he was potentially unfit to use a motor vehicle.

I bet you £50 he got caught by the speed camera hence the welsh video mentalness and unhinged Jones

Speed Cameras are very unpopular in Wales, I mean even more so than the rest of the UK, we had it worse than anyone for a long time because this was Brunstrom's stomping ground and he liked to lead by example, a lot of the stuff he employed was bending the law to the point of fracture (he lost his daughter in a speeding incident so took to the task of being the forces top guy on scameras/talivans like a fascist dictator). We had cameras fitted in abandoned horse boxes at the side of the road, people given fines/points for being 1mph over, speed limit changes and vans on blind corners so it was borderling impossible to slow in time, the whole works because he knew they could do almost anything and the magistrates would take their side.

I doubt he would have closed the door if she had removed her foot. He seemed like the type that would want to keep it going and filming hoping he gets more of a rise out of them for more Youtube fame(lol).

The guy has issues clearly but that police officer who wouldn't take her foot from the door also had issues.

In conclusion: people are idiots.
