*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

I had a quick look for it today and couldn't find it (typed in PT and Silent Hills etc). You would think they would be promoting this a bit more.

Anyone heard anything about that (and I use the word loosely) Surgery Simulator!? Could be lots of fun... or really terrible.

I bought it from the US psn as my account had some money left on it. The controls are quite difficult to get to grip with, but it is quite funny opening a patients rip cage with a hammer :D

If you find it the way I explain above its right there under demos.

Have a look on YouTube for it. It's been on PC for a while now, has an almost cult following. Very funny to play with friends watching.

Thanks ill check it out.

The surgery simulator does look like good fun but with Diablo 3 local coop coming tomorrow I might wait on it for a while. Today will be all about finishing The Last of Us for the first time :).

Tempted to send my Controller in to be modified with the paddles etc, i made my own "scuf" for the 360 and it was fantastic for FPS. With Destiny, COD and Battlefield on the horizon it could be a good investment.

I know many will probably think waste of money but considering they controllers live a long time its well worth it IMO.

Works out around £35 which isnt too bad considering there around and beyond £100 elsewhere/buying one from them or Scuf etc.

That fan does a decent job of lowering temperature apparently

it lowers the temp of one part of the console but decreases airflow throughout the console meaning other parts get hotter.

it's like drilling holes into a ferrari engine so one part gets cooler and the rest all get hotter.

sony know how to make consoles and how to cool them more than adequately, this isn't their first rodeo.

i trust them 100 times more than their nearest competitor who's last console died on me 5-6 times within the space of a few years. i've never had a sony console die within 5 years of me buying it. in fact their average lifespan is sitting at 10+ years from my experience of them from ps to ps4

Yup my PS1, PS2 are still going strong, albeit looking very old now. I had the PS3 die, but had it replaced a day or so later at my doorstep then was rock solid until the day i sold it and PS4 going strong.

I had my 360 replaced 2 times, Brother had his 4-5 and my other one 1-2 times to which kind of says something. In the end they ended up increasing the warranty as the consoles dying were happening way to often.

I think their method of cooling is perfectly fine, modding the case like that will help one section but make the rest worse as it's messing around with the way they cool.

No idea on the collective years but PS1 had during the second year, PS2 the same, PS3 the same and PS4 from release.

Launch Playstations have been pretty notorious for reliability problems, if you've had launch-era machines and gone through so far with no problems I'd say you're pretty lucky...

PS1 constantly skipped during FMVs, was to do with the PSU being under or around the disc laser if I remember. PS2 also had an issue with dodgy lasers. PS3 YLOD.

I think Nintendo consoles are the only ones I have that have never had to have been replaced.
