That's only because of their marketshare. If AMD swapped with NVidia you'd be saying the same thing about them. They're both corporations trying to meet the same end only one of them doesn't have to be quite so guileful about it...
 
Is Lt's new avatar someone from nVidia? If so does the avatar convention on OcUK indicate the mod team thinks nVidia are a bunch of gangsters extorting a lot of money from the public for a product that could be found from another supplier cheaper elsewhere? :D

AMD do it all of the time when they accuse of NVidia of various misdemeanours to deflect blame from themselves for a lack of ability/effort/investment.

The main difference seems to be that AMD fanboys are very zealous in their support of AMD and love to bash NVidia at every opportunity, most NVidia fanboys just appreciate great products and don't particularly care about NVidia as a business or going out of their way to bash AMD.

It makes me chuckle when supporters of AMD say that Nvidia's success is down to marketing / pr, as if to suggest that it's not anything / much else. :p

They have a bad rep for a reason, want some?

Lock out proprietary features when competitor hardware is detected.

REMOVE DX10.1 patch from games because we can't do it

DX11 is pants because we can't do it.

Block AA on BAA.

Look at AMD's rubbish CrossFire frame times, ours is perfect, fast forward a generation, release a performance driver and reduce frame time quality themselves to catch the competition.

Which is somewhat ironic seeing as part of the argument is that they don't really do any and are much more of a faceless corporation :p.


Like I say, I'd love to see them switch market share, you would gradually see the same thing. Swings and roundabouts.

Stereotypical comment above mine for example ;)
 
Hmmmm...I wonder why the greens have the higher share? Must be luck (or an idea that stemmed from a conversation between a couple of blokes down the pub). ;)

Good article, but that bit about AMD/Hynix inventing 3D memory is a bit of a joke, 3D memory is just a type of 3D circuit and Intel had a 3D version of the Pentium 4 up and running a decade ago. Add to that the HMC standard was developed by Samsung and Micron but supported by Hynix and ARM (maybe the blogger got his A** acronyms mixed up?).
