Forget 34UM95, here's 34UC97! (CURVED 34")

Gamers will especially appreciate LG's 24GM77 new Gaming Monitor which is specifically designed to handle the fast-paced action of the latest first person shooters (FPS). A refresh rate of 144 Hz ensures that even the most intense action appears smooth and flicker-free, while LG's Dynamic Action Sync (DAS) Mode drastically cuts input lag, enabling the player to respond faster to what's happening on the screen. Other notable features include Black Stabilizer for consistent blacks across different scenes and Game Mode, which offers three optimized settings that can be applied quickly by pressing a hotkey on the monitor, with the option to create customized presets. And Motion 240, developed exclusively for the Gaming Monitor, helps minimize motion blur with a fast response time of less than 1 ms.

Seems like LG have a version of FreeSync. This looks very interesting.

No Vesa mount? Very disappointing... I assumed it would have one as per the 34um95. Why would LG decide not to include it?

Will apparently have an adapter to allow VESA mounting, according to LG's product page for the monitor (which is now live).

Personally I don't really like all this curved display stuff, imo it is rather pointless unless you are ALWAYS sitting at the right distance and directly in the middle.

I agree for TVs. They must be huge to make it worthwhile especially with more than one person watching.

For desktop monitors however, I think they make work for 30"+ screens. You sit much closer to the screen so the curve should make a difference when doing spreadsheet work and other things in fullscreen. Even with multiple windows open such as a tv tuner screen in the corner would benefit. Watching TV/movies fullscreen at a distance would be worse though... I'm guessing.

I would probably get one... but unlikely to be able to afford it:(

Love the look on that baby, problem is i want some of what it is offering and a whole lot more. Give me the same look on an adjustable stand, curved but TN instead, 21:9 aspect, 3440x1440(could settle for 2560x1080), 120hz, 34 inch.

I think with the recent advances of TN(while still not as good looking as a proper IPS) the technology is starting to look pretty good. Curved display makes a ton of sense for TN as it would help with the viewing angles. 16:9 is so boring and im not one for investing in a 3 monitor setup and then have to do battle with bezels when i can have a beaute of a 21:9 monitor instead that will look absolutely gorgeous and perform like a champ. I guess a guy can dream right?

No Ergotron MX use on the curved? That's me definitely not interested then.

My desk isn't small by any stretch but couple one of these with the XL mouse surface means the surface will overlap the stock stand legs.

No VESA holes = Fail.

Looking like a €1099 starting price on the continent. And potentially a release date of 02/10. Anyone going to be an early adopter? I'll post my impressions when I get it ASAP!

oh yeah on the spanish LG site there is a link for a VESA adaptor for those who care.

I really need a reason not to get it
please tell us it's rubbish

For a while buying a monitor was a relatively simple choice. In the last two years it seems like its gone crazy, different sizes, technology, resolution...you name it..its impossible now!!

It's pretty sexy. I really do hope that it's not plagued by backlight bleed like its younger brother the 34UM95. I have had 3 which have been extremely underwhelming to say the bloody least. To be honest, it's the thunderbolt convenience factor which makes me want to give LG another go! (definitely considering building a gaming rig after years of abstinence and a.. permanent move to macs).
