Corsair RGB release date.

Bad news I'm told that the RGB launch is US only

i know the official dates but I can't share.

Keyboard is currently only available in US version.

Well considering you can take and swap keys around and change each key to whatever you want it to be I don't see anything wrong with buying the US version. Only difference is the left shift key.

enter key is smaller \ is in a different place essentially

Ansi layout if you can bare it is availible but ISO is not. Either way I expect teh UK pricing is so high to discourage people buying it from the US.

Well if the UK price comes in really high it would only encourage people to buy from the US I would have thought.

The enter key size is enough to put me off buying the US version alone. I really hope we're not looking at waiting until December or early 2015. The Chroma is tempting, but I've heard nothing but bad things about Razer products quality. Saying that, I have a Naga Molten mouse and love it.

I fear they may be alienating us UK folk with the delays and potentially over-inflated pricing. I won't lie, I'm disappointed. :(

It' won't be as late as decemember Gawd NDA is such cack I wish I could tell you and you could just order it but i can't and you can't

Let's hope it is not £150 or more for the K70.
US MSRP $170. Current exchange rate ~£102. Add the VAT makes it about £120-£125 which I think sounds a sensible price, and this is before the etailers cut the margin to the bone. A £20-30 premium over other 'plain' mech boards retailing for £80-90.

There will obviously be some shipping costs, but you can fit a lot of boards in one ISO container. Should add more than a few pounds a board.

(Gross generalisation) I'm getting fed up of products in the UK being priced in GBP for '10' less than the price in USD

Agreed it's total BS. I really do want one of these KB's but not at ~£170. I'd go buy a LUXE instead for that money...

Appreciate you not telling us what you can't tell us but hinting at what may (or not) be the case...

I have no idea, For now I'm just going to keep quiet as it's their launch there is one at iseries though on a competitor stand which we are a tad annoyed about.

For £170 they can keep it, in fact they'll probably keep most of them.

Totally insane.

I totally agree. You can buy two high quality mechanical full size backlit keyboards for that money. And almost 2 K70 Gunmetal MX Brown ones. They can excuse me but the RGB technology is not that expensive. They want to get their money back from the software development but it should be a long term investment from their side as next RGB products can use most of it. I was going to buy a K70 RGB but now I will definitely go for something else that is half the money.

Software development and the 4 million they invested in cherry production lines.

It's a new clear switch which allows for the rgb whist I'm not saying that will be the price or justifying it there is more to it than software.

From what I've been reading about the development of this keyboard, it did sound like getting the switch right for RGB was a real challenge and part of the reason its being released much later than originally planned.

Hopefully it doesn't also mean a high failure rate.

I must say, being delayed so much would make me very wary of buying a first batch example, if they have problems it's these that are going to show it.

I prefer to let others do the beta testing these days.. :p

You'd like to hope the delay meant that the QA was given top priority. They have one shot at it, even a minimal percentage of failures would be enough to tarnish all that hard work.

So many moving parts, so many switches, so many lights...so many bits to go wrong.:p

You make an excellent point. Is their peripheral reputation worth botching the QA for though, that's the question. :)

I suppose you could argue the same for the previous backlit models... It's left people with a bitter taste and a sense of skepticism about these new boards. Just going off what I've read, mind you as I'm currently using a Filco, which I'm hoping to then use at work when these are released.

I am sure that if more than one manufacturer wanted to chip in the RGB thing it would have costed less than 4 million to fund cherry. However, the "we have the first RGB mechanical cherry keyboard" was quite important and I do not think the customers should pay the premium. Its a brand thing and it is just not fair.
