Hi,

Looking at OC shop, noticed these drives were the cheapest, I mean best value. of the M.2 variants available. There were no reviews however and I just wondered if anyone here had purchased one previously. There are also no specs about speed there (unless in my haste I've missed them)...

Of course I will also google it as well but I value the opinions of board members here too :)

Thanks!

PS One I was looking at was: Transcend MTS800 Series 256GB M.2 Solid State Drive http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-018-TC&groupid=1657&catid=2101&subcat=2364

Ahh, that'd b the one I want ideally. Unfortunately it's just a bit too steep for me so I'll probably end up with the SATA one instead. Hopefully PCI-E versions will drop to comparable prices at some point...

Thanks for the help! :)

Quick question, can the Plexor be used as a boot/system drive for Win7 on a Z97 MB ?

Well that's what I'll be using it for (Win 8.1 tho) - if and when I get it, that is: so I'll be interested to know as well...

Though I can't see any reason for it not to work... :)

My Plextor M6e M.2 PCI-E 256GB Solid state Hard Drive (PX-G256M6e is the boot drive for the OS windows 7 pro and games install,
Here is my benchmark

I got a normal 3.5 3tb Seagate barr for storage :)

Any SSD can be used as a boot drive no matter what shape and from , after All a SSD - Solid state Drive is a Harddrive but in a solid state from ,no moving parts = no sound ,no ware or tear & no defrag on them .:)
