LG G3 **discussion**

Official Wireless charger arrived today from rainforest.

Is a Far East model but that's not an issue. not exactly like instructions are needed.

Works well, as long as you put phone in right position - otherwise it complains about slow charging.

Cost me £24.78, bargain compared to the prices some outlets are charging!

Just ordered myself a white one from mobiles.co.uk, been wanting to get this phone since it came out.

£29.99 a month with 250 mins, unlimited texts and data on T-Mobile. Anyone recommend some nice cases? Thinking about this with a nice dbrand skin for the back.

The G3 screen is absolutely beautiful and to be honest I still get over 16 hours from the battery and that's with me constantly streaming from Google music over a mobile network and then listening using Bluetooth headphones while I'm at work so 7 hours roughly, along with a good few texts, whatsapps, facebook etc.
The battery life really isn't an issue even with having to power such a detailed screen.
For comparison using wired headphones so no Bluetooth usage my N5 would be on it's bum by lunchtime and need plugging in, this thing won't have even hit 50%.

How are you getting 16 hours? Had the phone a few days now and not getting near that

Had a black official circle case delivered today, the CCF-340G that you take the back off the phone to fit into the case, i like it and it keeps the phone slim with minimal bulk.

Managed to convince myself I didn't want to get this phone based of what I have read and what it may offer over my current HTC One M7, but after playing with one briefly in a vodaphone store I now want one.

The screen is just beautiful, absolutely razor sharp (not a big difference from my current 460ppi) but somehow just looks better, the phone also looks fantastic, the bezels are so slim and a breath of fresh air compared to my current phones massive bezels and its also so fast and the camera is so much quicker.

The only thing I would miss from my current phone is the sound.

Has anyone come across proof that the 32gb/3gb ram version offers anything in terms of performance over the 16/2gb we get in the UK?

Is there anything better coming out on Android planned in the next 2/3 months or is the G3 my best bet? Nearly bought a G2 to replace my nexus 5 but then the G3 came along.

Benchmarks says a 5% increase over the 2GB version. I have 3GB version and don't have the lag problem that others have reported. But I replaced or deleted the stock LG apps. I never used the 2GB version so can't compare.

Nexus 6 or Moto X+1 but should be announced next month.

Nexus 6 (Nexus X) its rumoured to have a 5.9" screen which is way too big.
Moto X+1 wouldn't be using the latest tech, Snapdragon 800 CPU and 2GB of RAM, so similar spec to Nexus 5.

I guess the Nexus 6 wont be aiming to topple the highest spec phones so the G3 will still be up there for the foreseeable future?

Well the G3 isn't a powerhouse, its pushing a 2K screen. If your a hardcore gamer I wouldn't recommend it. If you mainly use it for social media, video, web browsering its awesome. For these things how much power do you need? For overall performance the OnePlus One would walk all over the G3.

Where did you get it from and how much did you pay? Been looking for one myself but not prepared to pay ~£30.

Edit: Nevermind, ended up ordering https://www.gadgetwear.co.uk/peapod...ick-circle-side-flip-case-for-lg-g3-champagne but in dark grey from the bay.

A few of them came up on the bay, i got mine for £34 but in the days after as the stock was depleting the price was going up over £40.

Just updated the software to the v10J on O2, it wont let me upgrade OTA on the phone due to root detected, but it will always still allow the upgrade via the LG Software on the PC :)

So what are people's thoughts on the phone overall? My S3 contract is up next month sometime and was considering the G3 as a replacement over the S5 - I've always liked Samsung's phones, but the G3 just seems... better?

Personally it's the best phone I've had. Always had iPhones until tried nexus 5 which was ok but the G3 is really good and much better than nexus and 5s in my opinion. If and when gets android l I can see it being even better

All current high-end phones are much of a muchness. I came from a HTC M7 and can't go back to it, the screen seems tiny compared the G3 but the actual footprint aren't that different. The almost bezeless screen is amazing.

Pro:
- Feels nice and amazingly compact for a 5.5" screen.
- Good battery life, easy 2 days with 4 hours screen time.
- Wireless charging
- Excellent sound quality from headphones
he LG G3 results in the first part of our audio quality test are nothing short of amazing. The smartphone produced the best numbers we've ever seen including a perfect -100 on the stereo crosstalk score.

Cons:
- Some LG software aren't great, ie Photo Gallery, slow and loading a picture takes almost 2 seconds.

If I was in the market for a phone it would be a toss up between the G3 or the Z3.

i recently put a Dbrand skin on it too, so it now looks quite stealthy and bad arse
