It is $999 in USA.
$999 / 1.65 = £605.45
Add 20% VAT = £726.55
Add Shipping = £750 ish!
£799 is pretty much the US $999 after conversion, VAT and shipping/duties.
If we get £599 agreed, we will be selling it way below USA pricing and £499 would be miles below.
So I very much doubt £499 is remotely possible, £599 is a real push as at $999 in the US they are moving quite well.

499 tbh.
290s will be dropped soon seen some great prices on them already well under 300 even seen in recent weeks 290x for 280 so 500 would be a great price.
as mentioned would need a new psu aswell.
I understand that £499 is remotely possible, I'm just saying how much I think would be fair, because in my opinion the prices are too high, but if it gets to £499, I might get 2
even in USA the $999 becomes around $1070 after their tax (each state has it's own tax), all prices there are without tax, you get the tax add at the checkout.
I was on holidays in Florida 3 months ago and I was going to buy some computer parts, but I didn't because at the end it was only 10% cheaper than here and I don't think it worth the risk to save 10% and have problems with RMA if something goes wrong.
If your buying from USA, you don't pay their tax, so a UK customer buying from USA buys at $999, the landed price in the UK is normally USA exc. TAX price plus 30% for UK VAT/Duties/Shipping. Hence about landed cost in UK from buying in USA would be £750ish, but you are hung to dry on warranty as USA law is only 30 days warranty with reseller. Trying to RMA that product back to EU well the manufacturer is in their right to refuse the RMA as it is none EU goods. So you'd have to ship back to USA, very costly!
with this price drop is it likely other manufacturs are going to drop their prices on the 29x cards?
Eg the ROG MAtrix is @ £479 and other 290x cards
True.
The only brand I think will deal with the RMA without a problem is EVGA.
Nope, so stock issues on 290X or 290 they sell good.
295 X2 is very slow and AMD want to in short terms put a rocket up its ass.![]()
With the liquid cooling i think £650 is fair.
