Come on admit it........ GBBO

Paul Hollywood has the most fantastic beard. Regular watcher here and having met both Mary and Paul Bosc beard is even better irl. And don't get me started on the hair

But enough of my man crush cracking program

Its quite a poor series this year imo, I haven't warmed to any of the contestants except the beard guy who has gone.

Paul is definitely sniffing around Martha - he seems to like them young. I was kinda hoping Norman would go down in a blaze of glory last night, shoving his lemon meringue pie in Paul's face shouting "IS THAT ELABORATE ENOUGH FOR YE YA WEE GOB*****!"

I'm hoping for a spin off show, something akin to Battle Royale once they have enough of Paul's spurned lovers. Ruby from last year seems like she could flip into eye-gouging mode at the drop of a hat.

Absolutely love GBBO

However couldn't agree less with you on this one Eames, that beardy chap needed to go....he looked like he was going to burst a blood vessel at any moment, I didn't warm to him at all.

Martha is cute and likeable

Kate is very likeable and has shown some real talent

Richard seems like a decent chap (but the presenters harping on about him being a builder all the time is a bit annoying)

Nancy seems like a nice lady and obviously has excellent skills too.

I reckon the winner will be one of those 4, the other contestants aren't anywhere near (I haven't seen last nights episode yet though)

You've missed out Luis. I think he has been one of the best bakers from the first episode, and said then that I think he'll make the final. His flavour combinations have been great, and his bakes have been consistantly good.

I quite like it, I've been helping a friends sort out his house on Wednesday nights, while we are doing the work his wife is watching the bakeoff while trying to bake something in the theme of that weeks show. When the work is done there is a tasty treat for me, win.

ETA: Richard and Louis are probably the best two on the show, but after this week I think Kate may be edging Richard out.

Is it preferable to a gunshot to the face though? I would have to tentatively offer my position/suggestion that no it is not. *shakes head left to right and back again at a calm, moderate speed, but not too slowly either. The normal speed.

I love it, I don't watch football so this is the time of year I get to watch something competitive and bet on it.

I reckon it was good Kate went out, she annoyed me.

I'd like to see Chetna go, none of her bakes have been bad but they've all been pretty much the same theme it's all spices all the time and as soon as she hits the technical she just doesn't have a clue.

Martha is good yet inexperienced, and things like this week "I wrote 8,000 words on choux pastry" yes Martha but how much have you actually made.

I'd like to see Richard in the final, so far he's had the best bakes. Louis I haven't made my mind up on and the other one I don't even know her name - that says it all really, nothing stands out.

You mean Nancy?

She's been fairly steady with the occasional poor judgement - holiday ring cake thing?!

Same with Chetna and her technical isn't all bad. I mean the European cake challenge was definitely a rabbit out of a hat.

I personally want Martha to pull a rabbit out of a hat in the finals and own them all. Just to inspire younger generations to bake. Otherwise, Richard winning, just because I like him.

I want them all to win, because they're all so nice. I don't know how I'd react if I have to see Martha's sad puppy dog face crying again :(

Martha made a load of Cupcakes for a friends wedding that occured last year as she is a friend of the bride. They were probably some of the best Cupcakes I've had, so my misses and I are rooting for her. I would through Luis and either Richard/Nancy in as the final 3!

Chetna has been lucky with the technicals but none of them have been perfect. I mean she's playing it safe with what she knows but the difference is the judges don't know it - same as Norman did but he was sticking to English and Traditional.

Nancy has been steady but it's just not got any "wow" factor.

As for Martha blubbing again? Chin up lass, it's only baking.

Definitely thinking it's going to be between Richard and Luis in the final, I've got a bet on it at the moment :D

Glad Nancy won. She was definitely the best baker on the day though Richard must be gutted he's bottled it on the big day.

Nancy reminds me of my Gran a bit, never been taught to bake but just mastered it through years of experience of looking after a large family. None of this Paul Hollywood "oh look at me" ponciness, just a damn good baker.
