4GB VRAM, don't see that too often and exceed the capacity of some reasonably expensive/modern/powerful reference cards like 780Ti, 280X etc.

I think that's a little bit harsh, I loved the original Crysis and I must be one of the only people here who enjoyed it even more AFTER the aliens showed up. Crysis 2 was also pretty good fun, haven't played 3 so I can't comment. Haven't actually played Warhead or any of their other games though I do have the F2P shooter Warface installed in my Steam library.

I'm with you. Crysis 1 wasn't all that exciting until the aliens turned up, then it got good :D

I also enjoyed 2 and 3. 3 was probably the weakest tho.

Yeah I got Ryse on Xbone, only paid £15 for it and as much as I love the Crysis games (all 3) this isn't cryteks finest hour. I never went back to it after my first bout of hand ache!

Wait for the GOTY edition on steam when it's super cheap ;)

I'll probably buy this, not that I expect an amazing game but don't want to see Crytek go down. They can have my money

Just seen the PC trailer hmmm

As much as i like Crytek and hope they land on their feet after all the negative press about this game like hell im buying this at full price

has 4.99 steam sale written all over it

My thoughts............

The problem I have is that this could have been a great opportunity for PC gamers to show game developers how important the PC platform is.

Crytek who have previously released brilliant games on PC (Far Cry / Crysis) and ported / transitioned them across to other console platforms could have priced this differently, let’s say £20-£25 for a game that is now 1 year old, the original R&D, production and advertisement should have been recuperated with the sales suggested by "VGA charts" 0.93 million copies were shipped worldwide 1/5th of every XboxOne console, Let’s not forget this is a young market, had it been released previous generation consoles too, the sales figures would have been way higher.

A total estimate of £55.8 million add a further smaller budget for PC development and production, ship it and add the already released DLC packs as a complementary pre-order, I see no reason why this couldn't ship between 2-3 million copies which would in turn create hopefully £40 to £75 million in sales, this could turn the heads of game developers to see that the PC community isn't going anywhere and more support should be provided as Ubisoft recently realised.

It's no secret that Crytek has had recent financial difficulties even if they have received new capital investment. Push for the games promotion, ask the gaming community to purchase the game. Crytek is not a developer we want to see fail, the developer who brought us Far Cry and Crysis and developed it first on the PC.

The PC community would (I feel) respond kindly, putting those £25 coins aside to help a friend in need (Crytek) with the bigger picture being further PC support from games developers in the future and taking the platform more seriously.

The PC community is / has been neglected by game developers, developing months /years if never after other platforms #Reddeadredemption #Destiny #Halo and while I do understand the reason for excusive titles Microsoft have 3 large Platforms in the gaming market, XboxOne, Xbox360 and Windows.

With the game being a retail price of £34.99 I think people would find it difficult to justify the price given the mediocre reviews for the game and I suspect it will have low sales figures or high pirated figures..........

I feel the same... There games are more like graphical showcases than amazing gameplay but I enjoy there games and love how they push graphics more than anyone else and really don't want to see them go down.

I saw the trailer and was excited, but then saw the gameplay and the images in my mind of Game Of Thrones style action and whatnot were short lived. Looks boring and repetitive.

I`ll have to wait for it either way as I don't think my PC will play this that well. I've heard all the stuff about it being a showcase etc but I still fancy it. Looks like a guilty pleasure for me.

It looks amazing, and just like God of War to be quite honest, so might well pick it up if it hits a sale. No way am I paying £35 for it though!

lmao...IGN review of PC Ryse just sums up what stupid market IGN favours. Anything PC related hardly gets a mention, and when it's done, it's just some very brief generic tosh..I mean this is their entire review for PC in a quote

"PC Version -- October 9, 2014
Ryse: Son of Rome for PC makes this already great-looking game look even better, with support for high-resolution monitors and settings for shadows, shaders, and even the quality of animations. Our GeForce GTX 780-equipped PC ran Ryse without a hiccup, but mid-tier GPUs might have to settle for medium settings - which still look excellent.
The visual spectacle is the best thing about Ryse, which means the PC is the best place to play it. But as you’d expect for a port, this new version does nothing to correct any of the issues I had with Ryse’s repetitive combat when I played it on Xbox One. In fact, its new multiplayer mode, Survival, actually amplifies them a bit.
The premise is that you’re bleeding out, and you must constantly kill to keep refilling your health bar. (Because you’re a vampire, I guess?) I’d hoped for exciting pacing, but in practice you’re forced to do the repetitive tasks of combat over and over again even more quickly than normal. At least the multiplayer DLC maps are included in the PC package, which gives it some improved variety in scenery"

http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/11/21/ryse-son-of-rome-review you have to scroll right to the end as they have just tagged it on to the original review for consoles back last year. They couldn't even be bothered to give it a totally new review structure. Yet it's funny they've quite happily given the new Sleeping Dogs Definitive Version a whole page and quite a detailed review instead of tagging it on to the original review from years ago. lol. They're so lame

IGN hates PC lol...keep giving your $hitty next gen *cough cough* last gen consoles over hyped games 8s, 9s and 10s lol.

Why would they bother re-reviewing the entire game when the only thing they've changed is the graphics settings?

It's not like Crytek have changed anything about the game other than increasing the resolution and graphical assets.

Maybe, maybe not, isnt that the idea of a review to go into finer details explaining what is new, old, works well etc. Would be nice to actually know some finer details, improvements if any, control schemes, how it plays on 4k...Sleeping Dogs definitive version has only improved visually, nothing new added but gets a full on review, why not just tag a few lines on the end of that saying yeah the game is the same old dogs but looks better http://uk.ign.com/articles/2014/10/08/sleeping-dogs-definitive-edition-review reason its got a big review because its for console numpties to make the game appear better graphically. Is that any different to what Ryse for PC is doing?
