Can I use GTX 780 stock thermal pads on a waterblock?

I had to throw the thermal pads what came with my GTX 780 Lightning waterblock in the bin because they got burnt. Is it ok to take the ones off the stock cooler so I can fit my waterblock on my replacement card?

Thermal pads normally have a certain required thickness or they won't cool correctly, i would just order some new ones.

I am using these, thickness 1 mm, on EVGA 780 SC, they work very well:

Yeah it must have had a flame because the block has heat tint now.

It looks like I need 1mm for the VRM area and 0.5mm for the RAM, I am guessing 1mm will be ok on the RAM so I might get this.

Just be careful that the extra thickness doesn't stop the block from seating properly

Contact EK support. They are pretty good about stuff like this and might just send you another set of pads.
