Really don't know which SSD now...

So I am after getting a new SSD to use as a secondary drive for most of my games. Usually I have anything up to 200GB (Never over) of game installations. I will probably only have my most played games on the new drive anyway, so I can't see myself wanting anything over 250GB for a long time.

I am basically after a 250GB SSD with 500+ read/write speeds and was going to go with a Samsung 250GB 840 EVO (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-168-SA) but have been put off with reading this thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18615995

What other drive could anyone recommend instead with the above requirements? Or am I just being silly and what is mentioned in the thread I linked more than likely going to get resolved with a Firmware update?

Thank you in advance for any information

:)

you could pick the crucial mx100 either the 250gb or the 512gb version

Wasn't there something being said about the MX100's having some freezing issues? Or am I mistaken and thinking of another product? May be it was something to do with certain motherboards/controllers. I can't find the thread any more and was sure I'd spotted something on these forums in regards to these drives.

I've never had any problems with my 840 EVO in realworld useage, though there does seem to be some performance issues with certain low level operations (which don't really come into play in day to day use) which hopefully can be patched at firmware level by Samsung.

I used HDTune on each of my SSD's and found little difference in benchmark performance and no discernible difference in real world performance.
