**** Sony Xperia Z3 ****

Ok so I just bought a Z2 rather than the Z3 (on purpose I'll add :p)

From a note 2 it'll be a nice upgrade, and for £270 quid it's half what i'd have spent on a Z3! Very few negatives in comparison, so as a student the £250 saved is very nice!

Not quite a brand new Copper Z3, but maybe i'll buy one when the price isn't so high :p

Supposedly Samsung are said to be releasing Android L TW updates this autumn so if that's true then expect to see the official release imminently (there's a Google event happening soon isn't there?) and I'd expect other makers to be on the ball with this too with OTA updates.
 
samsung + latest os update within a month?
not happening bud - S2, S3 + S4 british updates were like 2 months at the minimum - more like 3 months behind official releases at the very least!
 
This was an internal leak on reddit so I imagined it was something to do with those new Android guidelines Google set out this year and last.

Who knows :p
 
Just spoke to my local CPW store where I'm collecting my Z3 from. They said they are expecting stock today but as mine is an online order it will be delivered via DPD so could be any time today as it won't arrive with their usual stock.

Either way, this week is the week :D

Fingers crossed I get mine this week too! Mine is down for home delivery so here's hoping I get an email soon its been despatched.
 
Although the CPW Twitter account just confirmed October 1st for deliveries... Bah!

I ordered two of them usb magnetic cables you linked, and a nano sim cutter.
Got any cases in mind dude? - what about screen protectors?
 
want to pre-order this direct with vodafone but no sign of it yet...they are useless at updating their website

I'm not a fan of cases really and the ones I've seen take away the sleek look of phones like this :(

Never used screen protectors though, only applied for testing purposes.
 
prob gunna get a slip cover case for when I'm moving around.

Defo need screen protectors though - I got 2 feral kids that can't leave my stuff alone. Can't seem to find any specifically for the Z3....
 
Have to say I really like the matte screen protectors, it does make the screen more grainy looking but:

- much better view ability in sunshine/bright areas + makes the blacks look better
- no issues whatsoever with fingerprints, grease/smear marks (my biggest annoyance with phones)
- feels really nice to touch, like paper
 
How long will they last though on a waterproof phone? I fully intend on using my phone in water be it the pool or other watersports (not that kind of watersports!) and even on non waterproof phones I've seen how the bigger brand protectors go yellow at the edges as they age and collect crud over the months.

True that, not sure how they would last with "watersports" usage..... :p

Have used normal screen protectors before and not noticed any issues with them going yellow at the edges (I just get cheapish ones from amazon/ebay) but yes they attracted grease etc. far more than the glass screen! Don't think it will be an issue with matte screen protectors though...

I got samar ones (pack of 6 for about £2-3) from amazon for my N5 but imagine nillkin will be better!

If you find the nillkin to be very good with very little to zero grain then I shall get one too as that is the only thing that I don't like about these samar matte SP's
