Why do you bother? Why not throw it in the bin. It's only £21 anyway.

I managed to get a sapphire tri x r290 for £225 delivered new a few weeks ago and was initially a bit gutted when the 9 series came out a week later ..but looking at the benchmarks and my finances i think it was still a good/the right deal for me...will do me 18 month to 2 year and my temps seem fairly good although it possibly doesn't feel such an amazing deal as it did last week ..hey ho!

Better than getting one of those rubbish PCS+ cards!
Disclaimer: I'm sure that the PCS+ cards are actually very nice but I recently chose between them and went for the Tri-X (on LtMatt's advice/suggestion) so just trying to convince myself I did the right thing![]()
I sell to benefit others rather than unneeded financial gain to myself...![]()

I have the pcs+ and your right its rubbish, the fans are so quite i can hardly hear them and it doesnt get hot enough to warm my room, rubish absolute rubbish
you're deffo an AMD fanboy then ............... ha ha
I am not arguing that this is sensible. I was just wondering why £50 was being dismissed like it didn't matter at all.
Looking at the tweets here I wouldn't get your hopes up to much.
The power argument is a bit flawed because if you are selling a card that you bought new, such as a 290, the amount of money you will lose since you bought it is going to be a lot more than the saving you make on your leccy bill changing to a more power efficient card.
But you'll lose even more money if you hold onto it until eventually upgrading and depending on your next cards power requirements may lose even more.

I'd compare it to buying a car.
Say you buy a new Mercedes that does 50 mpg and then a year later you sell that and buy a BMW because it does 60mpg....it would have been more cost effective to keep the Mercedes.
I dont think people are actually suggesting sidegrading/selling a 290/780 gen card because of power savings, but if coming from a 6970/480 gen card and upgrading anyway, then power/heat/noise are all considerations for an upgrade
You arent selling the mercedes to buy the BMW, you are buying a new car anyway and have a choice between the Mercedes and the BMW, which do you choose, Mercedes have just dropped prices on their one year old, but BMW have just released a slightly faster car that also gets much better fuel economy
