Any more ideas for my new motor?

Bloody hell!

Have you got any accidents or points? That's mental!

I insured a 640bhp R33 GTR with all mods declared and an agreed value clause for less than that :-(

Was in my early 20s. Thinking 21/22. Had one claim looming over me.

I'm also not buying until next year, and not until I am absolutely sure that I am in good financial stead, and in a solid job.

When next year? January 2015 or December 2015 or somewhere in the middle?
You don't have the money and you need a new job before you can purchase a different car.

This thread is fairly pointless. Start it when you've addressed your own stated prerequisites or at least nearly attained them.

Your preferences, priorities or the market or all three will probably have shifted by then anyway.

January or February.

I started this thread now because it takes me a long time to decide things, and it doesn't really matter if I make this thread now or in a years time, I will still be looking at the same sort of cars... Its not like a brand new car is going to come out that I didn't forsee, which will instantly depreciate to £5000 is it?

I also DO have the money, thankyou very much, I could go out and buy one of these cars right now if I really wanted to, but I am waiting to see what is going on with my employment situation just to be safe, before parting with my cash. My apologies for being sensible. Early next year, I may still have a job where I am, or I may not. If I dont, there are a couple of places which I should be able to walk into and get a job fairly easily, or it might not happen.

So therefore the thread is not pointless... Thankyou.

Tom you change your mind instantly, we're alike in that sense :p Oooo I like that and then 3 months later don't :p

The Audi A3 is the first car I looked at, months and months ago when I was looking for a car. I even "planned" to get one as a second car, before I got my first car. :)

I have shifted and changed a-lot, and semi-settled on a-lot of different cars, but the one which is always in the back of my mind, and I keep looking back at for some reason, is the A3. :p

RX8... Cheap to insure lol. Na mate. I paid a bag of money to have mine insured.

They are cheap to insure for the power I got quoted £880 to insure an Rx8 when I was paying £820 for a 2.0 Focus. I now have an ST220 that Costs £1100 to insure.
As for OP I would look at a Focus ST or Mazda 3 Mps. I want either of these when I'm bored with my Mondeo but u might struggle to get a good one for less than 6k.
Leon Fr's look nice but interior is shocking. Couldn't sit in one of them on a long commute.

Insurance prices added.

if that was me it would be the ST225 Focus all day long and mod it. dont get why a Golf Gti and Honda Civic Type r Cost so much more when they all hit 60 between 6.2 and 6.8 seconds which is not any different performance wise really.
Shocked that the Audi is so cheap but it is slower than the other hot hatches.

I just checked the insurance on a 2006 E90 320i SE for some reason, out of sheer curiosity... The quote came back as £994...

That has thrown a total spanner in the works... Totally wrong class of car, and 0 - 60 time of just under 9 seconds, but tempting...

:(

all u will have to do then is throw on a cheap suit and barge everyone out of "your" fast lane on the motorway on the way to work as we know how important u are then. :p
Who;s gonna be impressed by another poverty spec 3 series compared to owning a Civic Type R or Golf GTI etc

Who cares about impressing people in a Civic Type R? :p

Dont know about u but considering most cars on the road are bog standard models etc whenever i see a performance version that stands out like a St, Type R or GTI etc i always have a look or watch it as it fly's past making an awesome sound. :p
Now who bats an eyelid at a boggo 3 series that comes in black, black or white and has outsold the Ford Mondeo for the last 7 years or so.

Sure, the performance variants certainly demand more attention than the standard models but as far as being impressed is concerned, well, I'm really not.

GTI's are in utter abundance, maybe not so much with the Type R or ST's but they are still spotted on the daily.

When I see an M5, 911 Turbo, GTR or Ferrari, Lambos, Bentleys et al, then I'll impressed, and then you've got my attention.
