*** Sony Xperia Z3 Compact ***

Oh a nano sim. Bugger. May try cutting it myself. I have done it before with standard to micro so shouldn't be too much bother.

I wish Amazon would get their stock in or give us an update!

I wish they would too! come on amazon don't keep us hanging when every other retailer are getting stock! :p

Any reports on how these fair in sea water?

Also, i'd be interested to know how they made the speaker and microphone waterproof, anyone got a link to a good description?

None of these waterproof phones are meant to be used in sea water, salt erodes things. It would probably be fine a few times in sea water, but there's no way I would risk it.

One man's Z2 lived 6 weeks in sea water before being recovered by a diver and still worked afterwards (after a charge).

These phones IPX certified are way more resilient than one would imagine.

I would imagine taking it in sea water would be ok but only if you make sure to wash and rinse the salt off it thoroughly once after.

Leaving the salt on it will no doubt damage it.

Yeah that's to cover themselves because some plonker will go out there wily nilly and if his phone has a defect which can happen as no production line is without faults will die and oh look, it died because of sea water ingress :p

The IP68 standard states that the phone should be fine at a minimum of 1 metre under water. It's up to the manufacturer to test how far beyond that they want to go and rate it as such. Sony just tested to 1.5m for 30m is all as that's really more than the average user will do anyway.

Quickest way would be to try cutting it yourself. There are guides out there that you can print off which show the cut marks required.

I think I paid something silly for my sim cutter, it was like £1.60 or something similar!

Amazon have been pretty straight up with the expected date from the beginning, so not really anticipating the phone till Tuesday. It's an agonising wait, but an expected one. :)

Indeed. For the price i paid im not going to complain. Hopefully will have it by mid to late next week. Any earlier is a bonus to be honest.

one things for sure the docking station thing is needed, the charging flap is huge and a pain.

Knew this would be the case, already have my dock ready and waiting. If people don't want to splash out for the dock you can also get magnetic charging cables from ebay which will charge the phone without messing about with flaps.

What came in the box in the end, was it headset+3-pin plug+USB cable?
