**** Sony Xperia Z3 ****

Hah!

Scott that beta theme is excellent! Review update to follow this evening :)

The biggest selling point for a nexus device has always been software - with the Sony implementation being as it is - there's very little you're missing out on. The biggest weak spot in the Sony software for me so far is the dialer, the Google/Nexus one is much better and I think you need root to sideload it on.

The only potential spanner in the works will be how long Sony take getting 'L' onto it.

It's a nice feature that HTC used to do, but gave up on. Glad that Sony see that people want to tweak the way it looks and not have to bother rooting etc.
A few more on the Play store: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=xperia theme

I'm actually really fond of the Sony dialer! Way better than the Samsung one and does exactly what it's supposed to for T9 search and action.

I guess it would have been nice to have the Google Dialer's internet search feature that pulls down number info though.

Yeah, I find that really handy and use it quite a lot for finding numbers for local business etc. Possibly Google will find a way to release it to the masses like they have for most other elements (Keyboard etc).

so I am looking for a simple clear case to protect the rear..baseus ones available from china only on ebay as far as I can tell

anybody seen anything similar over here?

Sweet, Amazon has delivered my order to work... except it has been signed for by someone who isn't of my workplace. Apparently, they're not concerned that +£400 of product is effectively missing and I have to wait 24 hours before they investigate further. What's the point of a tracking system if even Amazon themselves can't trust it?

For the camera - other than larger picture size, have you noticed any benefit in shooting at 20/15mp instead of 8?
Shooting at larger and rescaling produces better overall pictures if that matters to you. The frame at 20mp is 4:3 on a Z2, same on a Z3?
What 128gb microsd card would you guys recommend?
Anything made by Sandisk/Samsung will be fine.

Had the same thing with a phone back along, some monkey on a pushbike turned up at goods in at work and gave me the phone and said give it to the right person didn't even ask for a signature. Lucky I work in goods in!

Yeah 20.7MP is 4:3 only, the next one down at 16:9 is 15MP. Still, I use 8MP as I prefer to use the HDR mode :p

Dafaq... I even got my nano sim from Three which I only ordered on Sunday. Amazon are usually top notch for deliveries but this takes the biscuit. Hey ho, it's not the head of the world as long as they get me a replacement. I'm assuming they have some in stock as the CS girl I spoke to was quite confident (even though their website says 1-2 months for delivery).
