it sounds like Ubisoft just don't want to lose Xbox One sales by shipping an inferior version that gets snubbed.
Why would it matter to them what console people buy it on? a sale is a sale.

So for next 5-6 years all games are gone be CPU bottleneck? For god sake, what were they thinking?

Its disappointing that this generation isn't capable of the lovely 60fps we have become accustomed to![]()
I couldn't give a toss what res it is. If the game is as good as Black Flag then I'll buy it.
Exactly! Assassins Creeds holds very little interest for me personally, but surely it's about the game play rather than the resolution?
it is a couple of lines in a configuration file just to keep a few XB1 owners not boycotting the game.
Some people don't like to buy inferior versions of stuff so Xbone sales could be hurt by it being a lower resolution (ie. not buying the game at all rather than on another format).

Erm not sure how you work that out.
How many XB1 owners have ever said "I'm not buying that game because its got a higher resolution on PS4"? Can't say I've seen one.
Tomb Raider for example.
Sold less on XB1 even taking into account the console sales gap.
Financial incentive more like.
I havent seen anything to suggest XB1 owners didn't buy it due to resolution gate.
