Or it could be, 'X' actually does matter, hence the gigantic freaking userbase of console 'X'.. while console 'Y' is struggling WiiU style.
However I wish you fanboys would stop trying to turn this into console X vs console Y. That's actually not the point of this thread.
1080P has been the HD standard for about 5 years now with all TV's offering that resolution natively so it's madness not to support it whenever possible.
Microsoft chose not to target 1080P and spent some of their production budget on Kinect so 900P is fine for them, Sony spent that budget on a much better GPU instead so it's not asking too much that developers actually use it, especially when a resolution change is basically a flick of a switch.

I'm actually surprised they still make them. I don't actually know anyone who hasn't got a 1080p tv.

They didn't choose not to target 1080P, they wanted 8GB of RAM minimum, they didn't think they would be able to get 8GB of GDDR5 and so they needed to increase the bandwidth of the machine since DDR3 was so slow, they chose to do this via ESRAM, because of the ESRAM they had to lower the number of shaders/ROPS because the ESRAM takes up a lot of room on the GPU.
Sony took the risk that higher densities of GDDR5 would be available so could use the extra space in the GPU for shaders and ROPS.
Makes sense that most of your posts appear after school ends.

The irony being of course, you're one of the biggest fanboys on this forum, your past posts on this thread, and elsewhere are proof of that. As it happens, I couldn't really give a rats *** whether the PS4 has higher resolution games or not.
As for the derailing of the thread, you're one of the biggest culprits there is. I can't tell if you're on the wind up or not.
If it was my choice, this thread would have been locked a long time ago.
