*** Nokia Lumia 930 ***

I'm getting 930 from work next week - my choice as I could get 5c, S4, z10 or 930.

cant wait to be honest :)
Last windows phone I have been using was 7.8 on lumia 800
I have heard that it changed a lot so hopefully only for better :)

will need to look for apps etc, possibly ones Im using on my Note

I was very impressed by the change from the 800 to the 930, it's like an entirely different phone while still being the same basic experience. Everything just works so smoothly and does what you'd expect it to.

Guys, hoping somebody can help me here, a couple of hours ago I "upgraded" from a Lumia 920 to the 930, I went into the EE store to look at upgrades and decided on the 930, however I have since realised I made a big mistake, what are my rights in regards to returns/etc?

As you went into the shop you'll not be covered by any distance selling regulations, so look at the contract you just signed. It should clearly specify what the cooling-off period is.

They have a rubbish returns policy

We do not offer a change of mind policy on any of our products in store. However, we do offer a 14 day return on our products if you are experiencing coverage issues or our coverage does not meet your expectation. You‟ll have 14 calendar days from when you join or upgrade, including the day of original purchase or upgrade, to return your phone and/or plan to the store where you purchased. You can only make one return within this time.

Why did you decide it was a mistake?

Well basically I upgraded from a 920 and chose the 930 based on Microsoft's/Nokia's blurb of it being the best Lumia yet, however it turns out the phone is actually lacking a few features the 920 had, the most notable being glance which is an obvious deal breaker for me. I didn't think to question in the store whether the new flagship had it, because well, it's expected, it's like buying an i7 and finding out you only get hyperthreading on the i3's now.

A few people have posted online that they were able to return the 930's and get 925's or 830's instead (they have glance) so I'll try that.

I think most people with 920s are going for the 830, we've known about the lack of Glance for months.

How did they make such a mistake *Shakes fist angrily at MS*

I'm toying with the idea of hanging onto the 920 till the 1020 successor gets announced.

I just don't get why so many people appear to be up in arms about the 930 not having the Glance feature. I enabled it on my 920 but I never saw much point to it, and after upgrading to the 930 I can't say I miss it.

No as no where is it implied or advertised as having glance,

It is not described as having it (hence why I said not as implied instead of not as described) but the manufacturers referred to it as the most advanced Lumia yet, which is blatantly untrue as it lacks important features present on it's predecessors.

Glance is just as important/standard a feature on a Lumia flagship as wireless charging or having WP installed.

Both wireless charging and WP are advertised features, glance is not.

No glance does not mean it's an inferior product. It is. Ore advance than the 920.

Or are you going to day it's not the most advanced as it hasn't got a 41mp camera?
I'm sorry it makes no sense you made a mistake. But looks like one way or another you can take it back. Either swap or say you aren't happy with reception.

The iPhone 6 stand didn't say anything about still having Siri either, but that's also a logical feature to expect >.>

Anyway contacted EE and apparently this is quite common lol, they say to go back to the store tomorrow to sort it out. Now all I gotta do is decide between the 830/925 or an S5 (if the 930 is out of the running then the S5 is back in).
