that sucks, what did the admins say about your account? is there no way of getting it back? if you managed to prove that it is you, they should be able to change the email address.. or was this their solution?

unlucky on the crash too! those manhole covers are killer in wet! that's why I take massive care in wet when riding over/near them.. but crap like the above still happens

I've not asked anyone actually, I just re-registered. My account holds no value so I'm not bothered about it and I certainly wouldn't want anyone to have to do any work to 'fix' it.

Guess who's back, back again.....

Lost my previous password which was associated to an email address I don't have any more so I had to re-register.

Been crashing have we? Me too.

Gutted. I'm having a similar issue with Strava and ridewithgps... I've had a minor falling out with Facebook so I've temporarily deactivated my account, but my Strava and ridewithgps accounts are tied to that, so I can't use them for the time being. Rubbish.

Wet manhole cover last Wednesday, washed out my front wheel and went down hard. No damage to helmet, scratched rear mech, ripped bar tape and four stitches required in my arm.

Tis' but a flesh wound.

Stitches, owch, but as you say - could be worse. Hope you heal up OK.

Oh, and having been let down on the Charge Plug (brake calipers needed taking off and sending back to Sram with no eta for replacement) I've ordered a Canyon Inflite 9.0.

Yummy.

Pics when it arrives, yo.

Does anyone have any experiences with dodgy feet ("flat feet") causing issues whilst cycling?

I don't have a problem myself but a friend of mine that has recently just bought a nice bike with the aim of getting back into cycling has quite severe flat feet which apparently causes his knee to be pulled out of alignment. He's had issues with it in the past (and it was the reason he stopped cycling years ago) and for normal walking/etc he has inserts for his shoes that help stop his arches from collapsing.

Does anyone suffer from anything similar? I'm sure I heard something about people with these sorts of issues pretty much using the same inserts for their riding shoes as they do for their walking ones. Then again, I could've made that up completely.

I have fallen arches. Flat as pancakes.

Generally orthotic inserts are for heel support and since cycling uses the front part of the foot they don't really help. My shoes (Giro - all models) have a supported arch so that takes care of that bit.

What you can get are wedges that go inside the toe box of your shoe under the ball and toes to correct any pronation and this should help. Correct fitting of them is a job for a pro.

Bike fit.

Thanks for the information. I did suggest a proper bike fit as something that would help but only from a vague idea that they "look at your feet" :p It's good to hear from someone with a very similar/the same issue.

As Asprilla says, how you walk/run is not necessarily indicative of how you ride a bike. It's definitely a job for a pro to look at but the Specialized BG insoles aren't a bad place to start and see if it helps.

I also had great results using a hockey ball to rebuild my arches through regular rolling and it's worth a go.

Cheers. I've passed this info on to him too :)

Anyone with any thoughts on the Elite 'elastogel' trainers?

They're all a 'similar' price (except the last is a few quid more) with the current (lol) wiggle sale on... But blowing £200 on a fluid trainer when I've never used one before and could easily get a second hand mag trainer for half the money... Then pick up a fluid next year when everyone's selling them in the nice weather?!

I'm defo confused... So 'elastogel' does not equal 'fluid'. Only the middle of those (power-fluid) is fluid and therefore quieter with less tyre wear than the mag ones?

it's important to remember before buying a turbo trainer, that riding on a turbo trainer is a miserable, soul-destroying experience that makes riding in torrential rain feel like getting special cuddle time from Megan Fox.

Hi all, looking for some lights for my WHYTE Suffolk, any recommendations? After something decent that will last.

And which size Chromeplastics should I be getting?
