Will UKIP win its first seat in parliament tonight?

If the result in Heywood doesn't give a wake up call to the labour party, in not sure what will.
600 more seats and ukip would have had two MPs, both from safe opposition constituencies.

Lets look shall we

Meaning people who vote for UKIP and said members here.

The ultra-liberal dismissal of ordinary people's concerns over immigration is one of the reasons why UKIP is doing so well. They know they can't win the argument through logic and reasoning so they resort to name calling like "swivel-eyed loons" or "closet racists". Long may it continue I say :D

Let's not forget too that UKIP almost knocked Labour off its perch in Heywood and Middleton - only ~600 votes the majority. That is arguably more significant than the result in Clacton.

So Deuse have you moved on from your BNP voting days, or is UKIP the watered down alternative that you'll stomach until the BNP become credible (never)?

See there you go again. Calling people and members names. You do know it's against the forum rules don't you?

When a UKIP spokesperson was asked why they don't do well in London, they said that it was because Londoners are young, cultured and well-educated.

Infer what you like about what UKIP thinks of its own voters.

Other than the two links to news stories reporting scientific studies which support my statement.... No, nothing

None mentioned UKIP as you suggested. And the other is from 2001.
Are you saying you vote green\libs to make you look intelligent :D

What's he said wrong? He's not calling people on here idiots, he's saying that you have implied it in your posts, which you have.

I didn't.

In my opinion it's not. You have your opinion. And please stop trying to bully people on here with threats, it won't work.

I'm not trying to bully, in fact I hate bullies.

Look, I'm sure in person you're a charming fun chap, and I'm sure if we were to share a curry (or something less ethnic for you, beef and ale pie?) and a pint we'd not agree on everything but we'd have a maybe a passionate but perfectly rational/friendly conversation, that's all I ask from my members here at OcUK. I'm sure you behave with compassion, empathy and make and effort with people around you, and aren't as antagonistic and aggressive as you sometimes come across on here.

I appreciate that - we all get lost in our passions, and perhaps don't behave like we would in person - heck, half the membership probably wouldn't say boo to a ghost - but this constant lambasting, baiting and antagonistic nature you often post is getting tiresome and I ask you (not telling you) to please just try and turn it down a peg and just try and behave a little more "friendly".

Yes we all have different opinions, and that's what makes this place, and the world a fantastic place. There is just a way of putting it across. Accusing members (or me) about things or stirring up something which isn't there isn't of any use. I'm not a bully, I don't need to be, but I do help administer the forums and I expect certain things - if that's me on a power trip - that's for you to believe but I can assure you that this sort of thing does not give me any "pleasure" - I just love this forum and community and do not like negative influences on it.

Seaside town with high unemployment and skewed by 'Xenophobic' elderly population?

Good result !

And now the UKIP supporters are playing the victim card :( awwww

Its going to be the first of a few come election time. Its getting a little boring hearing the same 'racist party' comments. Take a look at some of their members, I think you will find they are from all sorts of backgrounds.

What other options are there? The paedo sheltering lefties? Spineless pro EU Cameron?
