Throw away your expensive GPU's...

pc version of Dark Souls had something similar & there's a mod to 'fix' that - likely the same will happen with these :)

Not even a "mod" for Evil Within, it's just a command.

"The team has worked the last four years perfecting the game experience with these settings in mind. For PC players, we'll provide debug commands on how you can alter the frame-rate and aspect ratio, but these commands and changes are not recommended or supported and we suggest everyone play the game as it was designed and intended for the best experience."

For FFXIII there will be a mod to run upto 4K

When we have games such as Metro Redux running at 1080p/60 (and rock solid locked at 60) on the PS4 (912p/60 on the Xbone) it highlights what appears to be a complete lack of effort on the part of other developers / publishers - for both the PC and the consoles.

Whether this is an intentional "That'll do", or a push from the publisher to simply get something out of the door "we'll patch that glaring problem later", who knows.

I'm glad there's a lock on consoles, it would be silly not to. TVs are 50/60Hz for starters and i wouldn't want games cooking my £400 console running such high FPS!
For PC it's different, we can monitor temperatures, we have better and customisable cooling.

This laziness is within porting from Console to PC (as per usual).

Didnt Matt or another AMD fanboy say something about this with his tweet last night ? This is what happens when you sweep the consoles. Performance ops follow to PC.

The only problem is that its most likely that most gamers out of the 10s of millions out there, don't have really great hardware or hardware knowledge themselves unlike enthusiasts on forums,so its apparent devs are trying to target that crowd.

Look at things like the Nvidia Geforce Experience and AMD Raptr app with all the "auto-settings" milarky which I just totally ignore, since manually adjusting settings is so difficult and time consuming. Not.

Its like companies are trying to make the PC more like a console.

Look at even what Valve are trying to do.

That claim of 13% of Skyrim sales accounting for PC is either a complete fabrication of the OP or the publisher it was the same with Battlefield 3 & 4 where EA claimed the consoles had the lions share of sales but when someone showed their server traffic PC players beat PS & xbox players combined.

Bethesda had better not pull the same **** if they ever release Fallout 4. If they cap it at 30FPS and/or 720P it will break me... I need that game :(

I can't believe it's taking them so long to get Fallout 4 out the door. After development for Skyrim wound down I expected an announcement about Fallout. Maybe I'm just really impatient, but I want it too.

Skyrim on PC accounted for a mere 13% of their sales... they know where their target audience lies. And we aren't it.

That's awful. I couldn't imagine playing it on console, I've experienced it on PS3 and load times are shocking. So glad I got the PC version.

Ubisoft have said there's scope for specs to change between now and the release. I half expect a day one patch for the PS4 to bump the resolution up to 1080p, like they did with Assassin's 4.

They actually state as well that they are CPU bound with the game, which doesn't sound good if true. Then again, this is Ubisoft.

They also said you could run into issues doing so. Would you still risk your money on a game that might or might not run fine?

To be honest, that is what we all do whenever we buy any game. Such is the way of the PC gaming scene at present...

Also, bad console ports will help G-Sync tech to sell at least... :p

When people move to 4K, 30fps limit might seem like a blessing :p

All this hate, just glad most of the good console games are making it to the PC at all. Dead Rising 3 even at 30fps didn't stop me enjoying the game. A lot of these Dev's just don't have the resources to tweak around with game just for the PC market. No doubt the community will make these games better, and it will still be better on PC than console in the end. It's all good.

I certainly won't be going 4k until 60fps, I'll glady wait it out for 5 years or so :)

There's no excuse what so ever not to put the effort in and make PC games 1080p/60fps minimum, I don't go out and fork out £300+ on a GPU and then go on to spend hundreds more on other components, to then be locked down at 720p/30fps or whatever it be (some crap lazy console port). The devs can really go and stick it in their pipes and smoke it for all I care, there's no excuse for it.

+1

30 fps and locked resolution might not be ideal but at least you have the option to use the PC with keyboard and mouse where it suit's. I get the feeling there would be more outrage if these games were console only.

someone will tweak . im not worried :D

The point is it should not be up to someone to do it for them, I expect the developers to put the work in if they want my money, I was just about to buy TEW with a 25% discount from GMG but thankfully I've seen this so now I'll wait until it's in a 75% sale as that's all it's worth.

If they think that I'm going to be forced to use console levels when I pay for a high end PC there wrong and deserve a flopped title, I hope they get it and then get the message.

Last of Us is still on the PS only though!:( I would buy that game on PC even if were locked to 30FPS.
