*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

I wouldn't say poor selection of games im swamped with brilliant titles... though I did come from a 360 if that makes any difference.

Yeah, suppose the games are a personal preference. Hopefully my view will change when GTA arrives although for most it probably won't as they'll have played it on a previous gen console.

I don't have any issues with quantity of games as im pretty much into any genre, dont get me wrong im really enjoying my PS4 and use it a lot!

There are a few things starting to grate on me though. The constant ups and downs of the network, although generally fast sometimes the interface can just hang on certain things especially when they need network access. The APP sometimes takes like 10 minutes to receive messages.

Also all the secrecy around software updates and the fact they are sooo slow.

I've replaced my thumbsticks with XBONE ones but cant believe this problem still hasn't been sorted!!

Surely they built the whole OS in less then a year!? Why does it take them so long to put in small features... i realise it all needs to be coded from scratch but come on i cant even code but im sure i could have figured out how to make an MP3 play by now.

As Sony are facing rather large financial issues at the moment I'm not sure they have the resources to fix all the ongoing server issues plaguing the PS4. But I agree it is getting a bit silly now and tbh I'm using my PS4 less and less.

It's good having all the power but tbh I'm finding the One a much nicer system to use when I'm not on the PC.

I was contemplating getting a PS4 again but PSN really is poor. Going down on a saturday night is shocking.

edit.

Apparently this works, saw it on sonys fb page.

"If you go 2 psn and restore license in your settings it works again thats in the UK"

But its not down. I play often and I've never seen it not working. Only experience I've had with not being able to play on PS4 is with driveclub.

PSN is up currently I have been on for hours today with no issue, I haven't had any problems since the last DDOS attack. I would never go near an XBone due to the blurry 900p graphics FM5 looks so poor.

Considering the Playstation was solely aimed at gaming when it was released it's a joke that it came with a controller with durability and battery issues and an online service that still hasn't been fixed after nearly a year. That's without mentioning the poor selection of games.

Got to question if they spent most of their time on getting the most power out of their console and neglected everything else :(

Thanks guys, seems nothing much has changed, a shame to waste all that power, was going to pick up a PS4 for Christmas but think i'll wait until 2015 Christmas, Xbox One has everything I need and more currently and I'm going to upgrade to a brand new PC in the next few months.

Fantastic, please do share your pc gaming experience when you'll get a pretty powerful gpu yet plenty of games won't use its full potential.

Apart from minor anoyances, friends lists, messaging problems and psn maintenance, I find psn to work perfectly fine.
I'm sure all these things will get sorted.

It will yes. I've had a few problems with messages but it'll hopefully be sorted.

Friends lists are loading a lot slower as last but from recent posts from Sony they are looking into back end improvements before releasing firmware 2.0
