More or less just stating the obvious lol.
The 290 dips quite a lot in the opening sequence.
Didn't expect the cliche crew to pick up on that though![]()
it is odd Dicehunter that there is no built in benchmarking tool i and i think a lot of people were expecting one, crytek even stated it would become the new pc benchmark in there PR release
“We are bringing the Ryse experience to PC, with 4K resolution support,” says Carl Jones, Director of Business Development at Crytek. “4K gaming is another leap in graphics quality for PC gamers and Ryse is the perfect showcase for what’s now possible in high-end PC games. We’ve given our team the opportunity to show what CRYENGINE can really achieve, without compromising quality, thanks to the incredible hardware available now to PC gamers. Ryse will be a benchmark PC graphics showcase this year and probably for a long time in future. Our community asked for a Ryse PC version, and we have the means and technology to deliver this title with the highest quality possible.”
Ryse will never be the next Crysis.
I like Ryse, it looks good. But it only looks as good as it does because of how simplistic it is.
Think I need more than a single 290X to max this at 2560x1080 for proper enjoyable game play.
Oh well, 20nm I'm counting on you. Really don't want a dual GPU config.
As an AMD user im happy to see the game performing well, its just a shame its a mediocre at best game.
2560x1080 is barely many more pixels than 1080p. I hardly noticed any performance difference.
4K won't be playable imo on any single cards. Even with driver updates I highly doubt it.
Here are some of my benches with frametimes on a
Msi Gaming R9-290 , Galax Gtx970 Exoc and GTX680 all stock
This is 4K low btw
This game is not playable at any resolution on any setup as long as the game devs limit it to around 60fps.
Well on 4K the highest refresh rate is 60hz as long as its near that it should be fine.
It is not the refresh rate that is the problem, it is the minimums.
I would rather have 140fps @4K in BF4 on a 60htz monitor than be limited to 60fps and dips for the minimums.
