No sources, jsut non credible qoutes, lol, billiant, just brilliant.

I can tell you, absolutely, first hand, from a Canadian studio working on some of the biggest titles, this is not going on in the background lol.

No offence, but from this post I assume you don't know the difference between pixels and polygons.

If you think making unity 1080p on PS4 will actually require masses of optimisation.Tthen.. well.. I give up. You beat me.

What are you talking about, even in that post yrou response makes no sense, and I don't work in the Deving part of thing, more artwork/ concept.

This notion that games are jstu "dropped" into the PS4 is sheer fantasy.

This thread is absolutely tragic. Just look at the PS4 thread, 90% of it is complaining about PSN not working or the pads falling apart, or the batteries not lasting long enough, or the GUI being naff, or the console being loud.

Hilarious.

Please see below example. Were you one of the naive who believed Microsoft PR/Marketing?
"The PS4 isn’t more powerful. There is some confusion about the difference in the number of pixels, but the resolution of some games is defined by the publisher, not by the console. Especially thanks to the power of the cloud - we installed 300,000 servers – the capabilities of the console are multiplied by four. So if you connect the console to the Internet, then the Xbox One is the most powerful."

That whole "power of the cloud" rubbish is laughable. They never explained what exactly will happen to people who can't connect to the internet. Plus one year in and we've yet to see one game that's been made better by "the power of the cloud".

900p or not the game is looking superb in my opinion...

WOW! that is the best sheep in a snow storm I've ever seen :D

Seriously, the game looks great, and I've only watched the XB1 footage... I think I'll make this a day one purchase on my PS4... and could not give a flying fig about it being 900p

All this angst over a bunch of pixels, is some of the most banal tripe I've ever read.

For some reason linking vids from my iPad does not work ?

Have a link instead....:)

I could not care less what res it runs at as long as it looks good. From 4 feet away on my sofa and after having been up scaled by the console my amp and then to it will look fine...

Thank you :) .. I'll have a flick through, as I don't want to see too much in advance.

I know I'm going off the threads important topic :p .... but, is Paris the only location in the game, or does it take you elsewhere?... That city does look awesome though.

Okaaaaaay......

It suddenly smells like a dairy farm in this thread.

The most surprising thing about all this for me is that people still fall for the ubisoft pre-launch hype. You only have to look at the assassin creed 3 thread to see everyone wetting themselves how good it looked.

It was one of the worst games I have played last gen. Yet game after game people fall for it. It's a game that doesn't even know what genre it wants to be.

AC1 was a stealth game, which I thought was the purpose of the series but it was padded out with some awful repetitive dross. Since then they have tried to make it a game where you can just run in murder the guy with everyone watching then just counter kill everyone else. They keep adding stuff that doesn't work. The Multiplayer, the awful battle defend mini game, pointless assassin missions and so on. They just don't seem game to game to know what assassins creed is.

Yet we are all suckers for those hidden blades :D

The below article may help the posters here who are not up to speed on the technical stuff. Coming from a PC background I hadn't realised console gamers not being well versed with how their machines work was a 'thing'.

"In the PC Gaming Industry, the target audience (PC Gamers) is usually very very knowledgeable about the technical aspect of their rigs. This stops AMD and Nvidia from attempting to use obvious marketing gimmicks, and when it does happen, the companies take reasonable flak for it. Sadly, however, this is not the case in the console Industry where gamers on average do not have the technical know-how of their box. This leads to technological jargon being wielded as a marketing strategy against consumers who would take the ‘tech explanation’ of a company as nothing less than fact. Before we continue, lets back up a bit and lay down the basic points of the case as they were. Here are some relevant extracts taken from VideoGamer.com‘s exclusive interview:"

Really you had no idea that console gaming took off because it was just something to slap games into for entertainment and that people didn't care too deeply about tech and specs.

Really, geez. I mean who would have thought 150m playstation 2 sales and you didn't realise in the main they weren't into tech and specs or how the damn thing worked.
