**** Sony Xperia Z3 ****

Its hard to press as in the button doesnt have much give, because of this you have to position your finger directly at the end of it and press down "hard" It's almost impossible to skip volume up and down 1 handed. To do this you need to keep your finger down as a tight grip. You cant repeateldy tap your finger like on most phones.

I tried another one instore today and it was much easier, I then tried the Z3compact and that was even easier and felt like it should. Not sure if its worth emailing amazon for a replacement unit as its only the volume button and likely to wear down.

Was the same thing with my z2, there was just no give with the volume rocker.
I tried the z3 - just slightly better. They got it right with the compact, much better feeling.

Soo.. an iffy camera and a crippling 16gb of storage. so close Sony.. so close :/ still only another 6 months til the Z4!

*edit* to be fair looking at the comparison photos on phonearena the Z3 doesnt look bad at all - I guess all the voters for that poll went for saturation > everything else

sadly the camera isn't :(

Expect the Z4 in February. Hoping they drop the waterproofing and beef up the camera.
Z4 Cybershot anyone? :D

Get a note 4?

woot - whats wrong with the camera???

It pee's all over my S4 camera - I got sick of samsung cameras being rubbish especially in low light.

I'm pretty sure I read that this half-year release cycle won't last forever. I think I read that it would last until Sony has a decent share of the market.

Judging by the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact releases, it looks like Sony are well on their way to achieving this.

If the Z3s sell well (as this thread would seem to suggest) then surely Sony will not refresh so soon as it will hurt their sales of the Z3 and cost them in unnecessary R&D.

If sony ever released something like this with better quality camera quality than the Nokia 1020 without being bulky they will have a winner on their hands.

They really need to install larger sensor into these camera phones. In the future we could see phones directly competing with the more basic point and shoot cameras.

I cant justify the £500+ price tag for this but I am starting to see the compact for £340 which is quite good price range.

is the camera quality really bad?

Phones are better then point and shoots already

Does anyone still use a point and shoot, I don't recall even seeing anyone with one on holiday in the last couple of years? I would use my iPhone 4 or EOS instead. Compact cameras have been eradicated as far as I can see, other than underwater ones, but now Sony has that in the bag too.

I highly doubt the quality of photos taken with a phone compare to the sony RX100M2 or M3. Although getting close-ish still far away, a larger sensor will really help phones bridge the gap somewhat.
