A few of my friends have the Vanquisher, they seem to like it. I don't have it so I can't really judge.

Just don't get Doctor Nope. I got this from an engram and it basically tickles enemies to death. Huge clip and very fast RoF, but minimal damage and poor stability. Come to think of it, I haven't used it since the auto rifle nerf. Might try it tonight for the giggles

Yeah, I know about doctor nope! I got one from a vanguard package from the postman, used it for about 5 minutes before dismantling it. I have Shadow price but the mods on mine are pants to be honest, which is why I'm leaning towards the vanquishe. Increased reload speed after a kill and bottom half of the magazine does damage, looks to be decent in PVE and PVP.

I have 2 Doc Nope.
I now have 6 more energies.

Even on PvE, it's like half a clip before a Vandal dies as you charge towards it, medium to close range.

I've got the vanquisher, isn't bad, although I have been using the scout rifle A.1F19X-Ryl more often recently. I really need to make a decision on which one to fully upgrade though -

Bad Seed Down
Bad Juju
Thorn
Ice Breaker
Patience and Time

All need to be done at some point and most are upgraded all the way but not selected, I just need to actually use the materials on the ones I want to use :s Then no doubt Xur will also pop up with something else interesting tomorrow..

Fully upgrade whichever gun you use most on PvE. PvP don't matter past the abilities tbh. (unless Iron Banner, when it's working right?)

e: Ice Breaker deserves to be fully upgraded. I know mine will be when I get more freaking helium, I don't visit the moon often.

Can anyone recommend a decent legendary auto rifle? I've finally got 150 crucible marks to spend. I'm thinking of getting the vanquisher from new monarchy having got them to rank 3, but the grim citizen looks good too! Anyone tried either of these?

I've got the grim citizen with different mods as it came as part of a drop. Still very good despite the auto rifle nerf.

Considering the nerf was primarily added recoil, I'd get the grim citizen with perfect balance. The auto rifles do the same damage as before, they just had a headshot reduction, but they may well back this out for PVE based upon recent twitter posts.

They've recognized that nerfing weapons for PVP and ruining them for PVE needs addressing.

Man those semi auto/fire real ricky tick shotguns are so infuriating in PvP.

I play mainly shotguns in PvP and I absolutely love them, but you really need to be on point and be prepared to run long and hard if an enemy is more than two meters away. They're easy to use but mastering them and knowing when to run or when to gun is great fun.

I tend to devastate with them, until halfway through the match the whole enemy team is using shotguns

Nothing more fun than blowing someone's head off at point blank range. Anything further than that however and I'm a goner.

agreed, I've got maxed grim citizen and it's a beast with very low recoil. Can rip through multiple enemies in the strikes and it's still fairly good during the raids, don't play PVP so can't comment.

I'd do patience and time out of those, simply because it looks the best and the sounds the best!

Just fully upgraded the vision of confluence scout rifle from the vault of glass, crazy high damage with it. Shame the full auto fire just decides to stop working half the time, as with perfect balance it doesn't move at all!

The vendor version on grim citizen doesn't have perfect balance.

Might just do the scout rifle as it's the first legendary wep I had and is therefore the furthest along, which should then let me have enough materials left over to upgrade something else. I have Shadow Price full upgraded, that I use if I can't use Suros, it's a good AR - decent RoF and damage. I actually have 2, both from drops, if only I could trade one to you!

Come to think of it, the only weapon I have spent currency on is Suros from Xur. All the rest are drops from Vanguard/VoG/Weekly, so it might be worth waiting to see if you get lucky?

Yeah I'm so close to that, just need 27 more Crucible Marks. I've got the Hex Caster (same type as the Atheons) with its ridiculous RoF and low damage and it really is worlds away from how powerful the Vanquisher VIII seems to be.

Scout Rifles seem really strong now though. Once I get the Vanquisher I'll see how it goes. May upgrade my A91RXwotsitmajig Scout Rifle instead. Its the really high impact model so it hits like a truck.

Destroyed the Hex Caster I got dropped - I just don't like the low impact autos really. Some of the dropped stuff is miles better than the shop variant - I always try and compared their upgrade points before I destroy anything - normally I throw it on another character...

Anyone know how to get an Arc Fusion, Void Rocket and Solar Machinegun? Hoping I don't have to hope for kind drops! I think the Super Good Advice is a solar Machinegun so hope for an exotic bounty (still having zero luck with them)

Getting hold of certain elements for Heavy Weapons seems nigh impossible. Solar seems reserved for Exotics (and Hezen Vengeance, Raid only drop). Arc on my 2 Legendaries. Have barely anything void specced other than my Shotgun.

I've got atheons and vanquisher. Atheons gets used so much more due to void damage in raids and nightfall. I think without that i'd agree with vanquisher every time. Also, same town hi-5!

Yeah the only reason I use the Atheons is Void Burn or I'm facing elite Minotaurs. It does seem more stable than the Hex Caster though.

Sorry i meant the vanquisher from new monarchy. Its the same weapon anyway just with different paint and unlocks / abilities.

get your vanguard up to Rank 3, then equip a faction item and rank them up. THat way you have the choice.

Its just so infuriating how you need PVP currency for all the faction vendors, plus the crucible vendors, meanwhile your PVE marks are only used for the Vanguard vendor. Stupid Stupid system considering the faction rank can be upped by both PVP and PVE. You should be able to buy faction items with either mark too.

I've got the glass half full and kills increase reload speed mods, just got it from them new monarchy vendor. Enjoying it so far and it also looks good!

My Wizard 77 does Arc damage, I think I got it from Weekly Heroic a few weeks ago. Weekly Strikes/Nightfall or Cryptarch rewards are probably your best chance.
