well after buying a r9 295x2 some games with mantel I was hitting 60fps solid with vsync in 4k.Had to have vsync on because the tearing was terrible.

Now in other games I was getting 40-60 fps fluxing and it was noticeable so I have bit the bullet and I will be trying out tri fire tomorrow with a r9 290x and the r9 290 so hoping for a solid 60 fps at 4k!

What games, I never drop below 60fps in BF4 Ultra?

Its not as bad as I thought it would be more & more games are supporting it but yeah its going to be a long time until every game has native support. But the man behind Flawless Widescreen fixes most new games within a few hours. Shadow Of Mordor has native 21:9 looks stunning, Ethan Carter with a mod supports it. Dead Rising 3 does so does Gauntlet 2014. Its hit or miss but the games that do support 21:9 offer a better experience vs 16:9 displays.

that is going to be the new 1080p standard in a few years.
after that it seems the improvement is small for the eye to see and use.
5 years from now maybe.

What the real question is when this subject comes up is

Does the user enjoy gaming or does he want to sit in front of a ultra sharp image watching the eye candy and ignoring the game.

No laughing please, but I would rather game on a crappy low rez screen than worry about the settings.

Can't we have both?

4k will likely still be standard in 5 years. 8k is just concept stuff, and the bandwidth and the infrastructure required to deliver it on a mass scale, especially from regular TV channels etc, is immense.

4k and gaming wont be the norm it will be bypassed.

they need to get graphics cards at reasonable prices to be able to play the games at these resolutions first.

8k lol. if it takes 10 titan blacks to play crysis 3 at 8k how long before that kind of power is on one card ? 5 years ?

1080 will still be the standard for few years yet.

Do they have plans to do this ? because I don't want to be buying duel GPU with all the problems they have with old and current games.

I wish NASA would terraform the moon so i could live there.

Do they have any plans to do this? Because i really dont want to live here when an ice age or global warmings hits us.

I hope 2015 will be the uprise of 4k graphics cards as I am a 4k gamer and would never go back to 1080 gaming due to so much detail in 4k makes it look real life like. I play 4k in medium settings at the moment which is much better than 1080 on ultra settings. You have to see it to believe it,
