Best SSD

Ah right I wasn't sure which one you were meaning. That is a really good warranty.

using 40nm nand allows them that.
after checking seems I buy the 850 since the price for gb and performance won me over. the mx100 512gb seems like a good drive also but I dont use much space for my use so 256gb is enough.

can't say i've had any noticeable slowdown on either of my 840s benchmarks show a slowdown but they don't reflect real world use. mines are just as quick in day to day use as they were upon installation.

Just ordered the 840 evo, firmware is out for it and it seems like the best ssd out there for its price/performance

It has been, until this issue became known.

At the moment, the Crucial MX100 250GB seems to offer pretty good VFM. If the new EVO firmware is a permanent fix (and it should be), then it still seems that the Crucial is the one to go for, given that it's cheaper at the moment (if you do a quick shop around).

I'd still choose the EVO, as long as it was only a few £ more than the Crucial. However, at ~£10 less, the MX100 seems like a good deal.

I've got the 256 Evo in a work laptop and just purchased a 512 mx100 to update my MacBook.

Will have to see which dies first ;)
