The destiny gods nearly always **** on your prayers. I wanted a legendary helmet for ages and eventually bought one. Few days later I get one from the cryptarch. Spent ages with crummy weapons and now I have a good set of each weapon which are almost all bought I start getting loads of exotic bounties and legendary engrams.
Talking of bad luck, I ran the nightfall last night twice. On the first time I got 6 strange coins and someone else got the MIDAS multi-tool.
On the second time I was just blitzing through it with some friends and once again they also got the MIDAS multi-tool.
I bet Xur this week will have the MIDAS multi-tool for sale, probably at 23 strange coins or something
How does 6.30ish sound? Helping some ocukers with raid at 4 so should be done by then Id have thought - need to run it through on multiple characters so up for some more later too if need be!What time at buddy? I'll be around from 5

Did the nightfall with meths last night and got the universal remote.
At first I thought meh but when I looked its a shotgun with a little short range scope you can use as a primary, one of its perks also massively increases range when aimed. Can't wait to level it up n check it out.

Yeah that lvl26 heroic was much harder than I remember
Sure there shouldn't have been that many Hallowed Knights/Wizards.
Seemed to be between 6-9 wizards and 4-6 knights in that doorway!
got the God of War shader from visiting cryptach following that run he be all red now looks good 
Reckon nightfall would be to much of a push?? i need a legendary primary prob first and how do you guys decide upon which best to spend shards on?
Got tonnes of ascendant materials so it's not really a problem. Its the helium/spirit bloom etc that i find hard to get.
All that is easy. Have a look at some farming routes on YT.

Having a sniper, 3 pieces of armour and an assault rifle that need spin metal i can assure you it really isn't easy. Its something ridiculous like 150+ pieces of spinmetal that i needed.
You can get around 5 ascendant materials per day pretty easily, a load more for the weekly/nightfall/raid and if you have a second/third character that number doubles/triples. Dismantling armour/weapons gives you ascendants. Add to that the fact that ascendant materials can be used to upgrade any armour or gun and the more specific materials quickly become more of a grind to get. At least the ascendant stuff is rewarded for general play time, not running round looking for random boxes.

Spinmetal is incredibly easy, I have like 400 pieces (and I even donated 150 back when they allowed that with Xur) Go right from the spawn point through to the area where the Devil Walker drops and just circle that area (you can even go through and do the Rocketyards as well) you'll have it very quickly.
SpinMetal, Spirit Bloom, Relic Iron and Helium shards are all available pretty easily if you know where to look.
Fortunately knowing where to look is just a youtube search away. Look for "Chest Farming Runs" for each of the planets / material you want and knock yourself out. For spinmetal, most prefer the RocketYards farming route, for Spirit Bloom, most do a loop around the ember caves. For relic iron most do a loop around the start area, looping round the cabal spawn on the right, and then down to the vex spawn then back up the hill.
For helium there are at least two well documented popular runs.

Annoyingly I got two legendary weapons yesterday after spending 150 crucible marks on a weapon two hours before ..... Destiny trolling me again.
I know all about the runs, my point is... it's easier to get shards because they are also fairly abundant, but they drop when you actually play the game. The other materials require you to run around repeating the same chest run over and over until you get enough or shoot yourself in the face due to boredom.
I find it much easier to get shards by having a laugh with mates through a vault run or quickly blasting out the daily/weekly for a bit more XP to level some weapons at the same time. Chest runs however are just so ****ing boring.
