*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Just got my first Exotic Bounty which appears to be the one for Thorn. Done the strike (lvl 12 cheese :p) and the Hive kills but now have the 500 PVP kills and lvl 26 "special" strike to content with. *YAY* :o

The PVP bit sounds a pain but is relatively straight forward. I have a legendary void auto shotgun so that should do the trick on the smaller maps. The strike though sounds a pain in the backside.

As long as I keep my Super charged I should be ok on the dying from as my Sunsinger Warlock can just self revive. Is there a limit on the number of times you can use this, or is it just a case of as long as you have a charged super you are ok?

I suppose at the end of it, is Thorn even worth it?! It looks awesome but what is it like to use?!

I just cannot play pvp, never been so bored in all my life when doing the 5 clash and control bountys.

Are pvp games really needed to level up?

My initial thoughts of Thorn was, what utter pants. Actually, it's not all bad, with the prospect of a stat boost when Bungie gets round to it, it's better to have than not to have.

Reload is painful but gear that helps with quicker Hand Cannon reload helps make it more inline with normal Hand Cannon (obviously using normal HC with the reload then seems epically fast!)

Trying to get mine to at least able to poison when shot, see if it flares any better.

I am lucky, I love both PvE and PvP.

With the PvP, it really helps upgrading weapons and get marks for buying from fractions. If clash and control is not your thing, try doing Skirmishes - makes a different game play if you form a fire team and play tactically.

Dying still counts as dying, even if you then revive. You can use it as long as you have your super up, like any other super :)

Thanks to Nashwan, Terribaer, thekinese, ThisCulprit and TL_Venom for dragging my sorry soul through VOG for the first time last night.
After being one jump away from finishing the jumping bit for the first time it only took me about another 100 attempts!

Unfortunately no armour dropped for me but did get the MIDA Multi-Tool.
I now need to concentrate on helium farming to get my light level up so I am level 27.

Thanks, I think I will stick with it for now. I don't have any issue with PVP I just prefer the PVE area of the game. The strike sounds relatively straight forward as long as you don't rush it.

Sorry I meant dying in the sense of going back to the previous checkpoint or worse, back to orbit. My Super charges quickly so this is good to know.

Hello can someone with clan admin please sort out my application, I applied last week if that is of any help.

My PSN is Satchey.

Thanks

Nasty doesn't come close to describing the Epic lvl26 Strike if you aren't in a team of 3 with appropriate gear.

Hallowed Wizards with solar shields and massive health bars. Hallowed Knights with arc shields and massive health bars. The mini-boss you have to kill with an equal if not larger shield/health bar as Wizards.

I roped my bro and his level 24 character to my level 27 Warlock to do that strike. I initially did the first room (3 waves) solo as I found it ok when I do the laps round and round the stairs and leaping between ledges.

When he joined, I was in the middle room before Phagoth.

He basically serve as a middle room camper, throwing grenades and shooting any 'main spawns' that runs into the room from the door. Whenever the streiker spawns, he retreats to hide in the middle room.

A bunch of wizards and knights will mob the entrance but as soon as the streiker disappears, they all disappear.

I on the other hand run around shooting addies to get through the waves of mobs before that Xur Wizard appears.

Took about 30 mins just doing that part as we both died a couple of times. Just be patient. Arc grenades and/or solar grenades helped a lot!

Thanks to Zoomeez and Righteous Rabbit for Nightfall and Heoric x 2 lastnight.

Nightfall was just as expected. My preferred cheese is to stay in the second backroom, before the last back room (where Shreaker spawns) which emerges in to the main arena - you can snipe directly on the ogre when correctly positioned with no fear of taking damage. You just need a team mate to run in the Shreaker room now and again to bring the ogre back in to sniping view.

Worst part, as everyone has said, is the three waves. The witches on the last wave just need to be taunted out in to the main corridor with you positioned far back behind the rock - ready armed with solar sniper/rockets.

Ah Mr Evil twas I who was with you then chaotic in that tiny room feel sorry for the decorator.

Just got a Gjallarhorn from a cryptarch package, I cant complain about that. I remember saying how I wanted one last night and regretted not buying it when I had the chance. The destiny gods must have answered my prayers.

Woop! Hit level 30 now :D

It's a shame the character looks so rubbish on the site. In game he glows everywhere!

Homing missile and cluster bomb in one. Enjoy :D

It's a godsend against Wizards. I expect it to come in handy in the next Raid if it's Hive-based.

Grats on 30 kris :)
